Raxaul : The medical teams have started screening of Chinese citizens coming India from Nepal at Raxaul and Jogbani Immigration offices on Indo Nepal border to deal with the menace of deadly Novel Corona virus on Monday.
Dr Rizwan Ahamad, Civil Surgeon of East Champaran said that a team of medical staff headed by Dr Sharad Chandra Sharma is camping at Immigration office at Raxaul border and checking up medically Chines citizens who are entering Indian territory from Nepal side to deal with the menace of deadly Novel Coronavirus. Dr Sharma said that one Chinese Woman was examined medically on Monday at Raxaul Immigration Checkpoint but she was she was free from fever , cold and respiratory problem and she was allowed to enter in Indian territory. She was returning from Kathmandu to Bodh Gaya by Maitri bus.
A 29 years old girl student of Chhapra, who has returned from China in last week her hme admitted in Chhapra sadar hospital on Sunday. She was suffering from fever and respiratory problem. The doctors suspected her a patient of NCV and sent her on Monday at PMCH at Patna for her test of blood and throat swab . Dr Mageshwar Jha, Civil Surgeon of Chhapra said there is no laboratory to test here . This Student was doing her Ph D in science subject in China.
Nepal on Friday confirmed the first case of NCV in the country identifying the infected person as a Nepali student who had recently returned from Wuhan city of China who is doing his PhD in Wuhan .He was hospitalized in Sukararaj Tropical and infectious disease hospital of Kathmandu after suffering from respiratory problem. Dr Hemant Chandra Ojha , incharge of Epidemiology and disease control division of Kathmandu said the hospital had sent his throat swab and blood to WHO laboratory of Hong Kong and it was found positive.
On the other hand the Immigration office at Birgunj in Nepal on Border is also seriously screening the Chinese citizens who is entering Nepal through Raxaul Immigration office.The medical teams deployed at there is examining the tourists.
