BSF jawan posted at Indo-Pak border shoots himself

Barmer | A soldier of the Border Security Force posted on the Indo-Pak border shot himself with a service rifle last night. The body of this jawan, resident of Uttarakhand was handed over to the family members on Sunday morning after the post-mortem.

The soldier, deployed at the Indo-Pak border touching the border district committed suicide by shooting near his eye. The jawan has been identified as Pradeep Kumar, a resident of Uttarakhand. Reasons for suicide have not been revealed. According to police, Pradeep Kumar was in the 13th Battalion of BSF and shot himself while on duty in Munabav. On receiving the information, officers of BSF and Police reached the spot and gathered information about the incident.

The dead body was kept in Barmer District Hospital. Police is investigating the case. Gadra police station In-charge Amar Singh Rathore said that the battalion commander of Munabav Company 13, OP Moga, reported on late Saturday that a jawan had committed suicide at the border while on duty. After this BSF officials and police reached the spot and recovered cartridges from the spot.
