मोतिहारी। 71वीं वाहिनी एसएसबी के कार्यक्षेत्र अंतर्गत समवाय मुख्यालय महुआवा को सूचना मिली कि कुछ अज्ञात व्यक्ति बाइक से अफीम जैसे प्रतिबंधित मादक पदार्थ के साथ चंद्रमन गांव स्थित भगत सिंह गेट के रास्ते भारत में प्रवेश करने वाले हैं। सूचना मिलते ही समवाय प्रभारी ने एक विशेष नाका दल का गठन किया और महुआवा पुलिस के साथ संयुक्त कार्रवाई शुरू की।
संयुक्त टीम ने चंद्रमन गांव के भगत सिंह गेट पर वाहनों की सघन जांच शुरू की। इसी दौरान रात करीब 9:30 बजे नेपाल की ओर से आ रही एक बाइक पर सवार दो व्यक्ति पुलिस को देखकर भागने का प्रयास करने लगे। सतर्कता दिखाते हुए संयुक्त दल ने पीछा कर एक व्यक्ति को पकड़ लिया।

गिरफ्तार व्यक्ति की पहचान बीरगु यादव, पिता वकील राय, निवासी पचपुखरिया, थाना महुआवा, प्रखंड आदापुर, जिला पूर्वी चंपारण के रूप में हुई। तलाशी के दौरान उसके पास से करीब 1.945 किलोग्राम अफीम जैसा प्रतिबंधित मादक पदार्थ बरामद किया गया।
एसएसबी और पुलिस की संयुक्त टीम ने गिरफ्तार आरोपी तथा बरामद मादक पदार्थ को आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई के लिए महुआवा थाना को सौंप दिया है। मामले में पुलिस द्वारा आवश्यक कानूनी प्रक्रिया पूरी की जा रही है।

काठमांडू। नेपाल में आज संसदीय चुनाव के लिए मतदान सुबह सात बजे शुरू होगा। 275 सीटों के लिए मतदान शाम पांच बजे तक होगा। 165 सीटें सीधे चुनाव और 110 सीटें समानुपातिक प्रणाली से भरी जाएंगी। निर्वाचन आयोग के कार्यवाहक मुख्य निर्वाचन आयुक्त राम प्रसाद भंडारी ने मतदाताओं से बिना किसी डर के मतदान करने की अपील की है। नेपाल, भारत से 15 मिनट आगे है।

नेपाल में यह चुनाव पिछले साल हुए जेन-जी आंदोलन के बाद हो रहा है। सितंबर 2025 में हुए जेन-जी आंदोलन के दौरान नेपाल में व्यापक हिंसा हुई थी। इस घटना के बाद देश की राजनीतिक दिशा को लेकर अनिश्चितता पैदा हो गई थी। जेन-जी आंदोलन के बाद तत्कालीन प्रधानमंत्री केपी शर्मा ओली की सरकार गिर गई थी। इसके बाद अंतरिम प्रधानमंत्री के रूप में सुशीला कार्की ने नेतृत्व संभाला। इस सरकार ने राजनीतिक स्थिरता बहाल करने और लोकतांत्रिक प्रक्रिया को आगे बढ़ाने के लिए चुनाव कराने का फैसला लिया।

नेपाल के निर्वाचन आयोग के अनुसार, इस चुनाव में 1 करोड़ 89 लाख से अधिक पंजीकृत मतदाता मतदान करने के पात्र हैं। इनमें लगभग 96 लाख 60 हजार पुरुष और 92 लाख 40 हजार महिलाएं शामिल हैं। आनुपातिक प्रतिनिधित्व प्रणाली के तहत 3,406 उम्मीदवार चुनाव मैदान में हैं, जबकि समानुपातिक प्रतिनिधित्व प्रणाली के लिए 3,135 उम्मीदवारों की सूची जारी की गई है।

कार्यवाहक मुख्य चुनाव आयुक्त भंडारी ने बताया कि आनुपातिक प्रतिनिधित्व प्रणाली के तहत वोटों की गिनती, जिससे 110 सीटों का आवंटन तय होता है, में दो से तीन दिन अतिरिक्त लग सकते हैं। यदि आयोग इस समय-सीमा का पालन करने में सफल होता है, तो यह चुनाव परिणाम की घोषणा के संबंध में देश के इतिहास में एक महत्वपूर्ण बदलाव होगा। नेपाल में 2022 के पिछले आम चुनाव के दौरान, अधिकारियों को पूर्ण और अंतिम परिणाम प्रकाशित करने में दो सप्ताह से अधिक का समय लगा था।

MOTIHARI : Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) guarding the Indo-Nepal border have set up a check post on the ‘friendship bridge’ at Bihar’s Raxaul causing concern to the visitors of both the nations.

The bridge located on ‘Sariswa River’- delineating ‘no-men’s land’ between both countries is straining the historic ties of roti-beti, religious spiritual faith and cross-border trade between India and Nepal.

Various bodies formed in and across the border to keep intact the age-old mutual friendship between two nations, have registered their anger over alleged ‘high handedness’ of SSB personnel during the checking and frisking process on the check post.

 Senior Vice President of Nepal- India Vishwa Maitri Sangha Praveen Mainali, Nepal, visited Raxaul, and expressed deep concern over the checking system implemented on the ‘Friendship Bridge (Maitri pool).

“The bridge, which was once considered a symbol of friendship between India and Nepal, has become a reason for ‘uncomfortable experience’ for traders, travelers, pilgrims and border citizens”, he said.

Mr Mainali says that due to the strict checking system on the bridge, people are getting stuck in traffic jams for hours, and a feeling of fear and discomfort has taken root in the minds of everyone. who crosses the border.

Mainali said that verification and checking is necessary, but its method should not become a blow to friendship. This bridge is not a border but a shared path of centuries old relations, he said.

The relationship between India and Nepal is not limited to the diplomatic border between the two countries. This relationship has been cultural, familial and intimate.

 Marriages take place in thousands of families in both the countries, many Nepali citizens get employment in India and the movement of Nepali citizens to the border villages of India has been going on for generations. The sudden imposition of strict monitoring and paperwork on this is affecting the lifestyle and family structure of the people, he said.

 A large population of Nepal, especially people from the border areas, buys daily necessities from the border markets of India and takes them to their country. This is not just shopping, but is also a part of cross-border socio-cultural unity. But now the search of every bag, every packet, and long inspection processes are hampering trade movement, which is also creating economic imbalance.

 Mr Mainali expressed special concern about the upcoming Shravan month. Every year lakhs of devotees from Nepal travel to various Shiva temples in India for the Bolbam Yatra. Pilgrimage sites like Deoghar, Baijnath Dham, Banaras, Kashi Vishwanath and Areraj are the centers of faith for these pilgrims. In such a situation, the intensive checking being done on the Maitri Bridge can disrupt these religious pilgrimages and there is a possibility of hurting religious sentiments as well, he said.

 Mainali made it clear that he would take up this issue seriously with the Indian Embassy in Nepal, the Nepal government and the Indian government. He suggested that the check post be shifted some distance away from the Maitri Bridge so that neither security is compromised nor ease of public relations is affected.

Arun Kumar Gupta, President of Raxaul Textile Chamber of Commerce, said that there can be a place for investigation, but there should not be a wall between relationships. This bridge connects hearts; it should not be turned into a wall of documents.

Traders, transporters, social workers and local citizens of Raxaul and Birgunj (Nepal) are also dissatisfied with this arrangement. People say that this bridge of India-Nepal is not just a geographical structure but a medium of intimate communication between the two countries. If there is no ease in this today, then a line of distrust can be drawn between the people.

 The relations between India and Nepal have never been bound by visas and passports. These relations have been going on through the hearts – they are not made by blood, but by emotions. The need for a verification system cannot be denied, but if the way of implementing it ignores public sentiments and social structure, then the Maitri Bridge will no longer be a symbol of friendship but will become an administrative wall.

BNM tried to take versions of SSB officials on the allegations, but no one appeared to comment on “Are there any necessities to streamline the verification system on this “questioned check post’.

Nepal and India's relationship is complex, with both nations sharing historical and cultural ties, but also experiencing tensions and frustrations. India has been supportive of Nepal during times of crisis, such as the 2015 earthquake, providing rescue efforts and rehabilitation aid. India's financial contributions to Nepal's development have also been significant, with a 29.41% increase in annual grants in 2022-23 and an allocation of Rs 8.8 billion in the 2023-24 budgets.

Thousands of Gorkha soldiers are still serving in the Indian army and the money they earned would be invested in fostering their family back in the Himalyan Nation. Families of either country can freely work in either nation and the 1800 km long porous border helps them to do so. Nepal’s citizens prefer Bollywood movies and songs. Thus, Indian cultures have largely influenced Himalyan people. Both the nations share their cultural and social ties since its inception. 

But question remains: who instigates Nepal against India- the country, which would foster Nepal- a landlocked nation, the country, which good gesture for its Himalayan neighbor has always been appreciated across the world. Have Nepal’s diplomats, media or China been winding up anti-india sentiments in Nepal or other factors are behind all this.

However, several issues have caused strains between the two nations 

- Border Disputes

The India-Nepal border dispute is a complex issue that's been simmering for decades. The main point of contention is the 1,850-kilometer open border, which has seen territorial disputes and encroachments by Nepali security forces into Indian lands, resulting in killings and extortion of Indian citizens.

- Kalapani: A 35 square kilometer area at the trijunction of India, Nepal, and China, where India claims the Kali River originates in the Pankhagad rivulet, while Nepal asserts the Lipu Gad river is the Kali River.

- Susta: India claims around 100 square km area of Susta in West Champaran district of Bihar has been encroached by Nepal.

- Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, Mechi, and Tanakpur : Both countries claim encroachment by the other.

 

Nepal's recent actions, such as including disputed territories in its new currency notes, have escalated tensions. India has called on Nepal to honor sovereignty, engage in dialogue, and abstain from making baseless claims.

The dispute's roots lie in historical uncertainty and contrasting views on border delineations. Nepal cites historical treaties and cartographic evidence, while India retains control, citing historical precedence and strategic necessity.

To resolve this, India and Nepal must prioritize communication and mutual respect. India should utilize its historical ties with Nepal to persuade the new leadership that China's intentions are exploitative. A proactive dialogue and diplomatic solutions are crucial to address territorial disputes and geopolitical tensions.

Dispute over Buddha Birth Place

 The dispute over Buddha's birthplace has been a longstanding issue between India and Nepal, with strong emotions running high, especially in Nepal, which has a significant Buddhist population. In 2013, Indian media sparked protests in Nepal by suggesting Buddha was born in India. This led to Nepalese youth taking to social media and the streets to express their discontent.

India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, further fueled the controversy in 2020 by describing Buddha as one of the greatest Indians ever. Nepal's foreign ministry quickly responded, pointing out that historical and archaeological evidence confirms Buddha's birthplace as Lumbini, Nepal. India's External Affairs Ministry spokesperson later clarified that Jaishankar's remarks referred to the shared Buddhist heritage between India and Nepal .

Despite these tensions, most scholars agree that Buddha was indeed born in Lumbini, Nepal around 623 BC. Lumbini is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is considered the birthplace of Buddha and the foundation of Buddhism.

Interestingly, India has been using Buddhism as a soft power tool in its diplomacy, highlighting its historical ties to other nations. India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, visited Lumbini in 2022, accompanied by Nepal's Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, to lay the foundation stone for the India International Center for Buddhist Culture and Heritage.

India and Nepal disagree over Buddha's birthplace, with India suggesting it's in India and Nepal asserting it's in Lumbini, Nepal.

- Historical Evidence: Nepal's foreign ministry cites historical and archaeological evidence to support Lumbini as Buddha's birthplace.

- Shared Buddhist Heritage: India's External Affairs Ministry emphasizes the shared Buddhist heritage between India and Nepal.

Similar situation was raised in 2021, when Nepal’s PM KP Sharma Oli claimed that Sri Ram-the Hindu Deity born in ‘Ayodhyapuri’ located in Birgunj city in Nepal- thousands of km away from Ayodhya of India where Sri Ram was actually born and brought up.

 "Big Brother" Behavior: Nepalis object to India's perceived "micromanagement" and framing of Nepal as India's "young brother." Nepal, as the oldest sovereign country in South Asia, values its independence and sovereignty.

- Unequal Diplomatic Agreements: Nepal's public perceives agreements like the Gandaki, Koshi, and Mahakali water treaties, and the 1950 Peace and Friendship Treaty, as benefiting India more. Many Nepali politicians advocate revising these treaties to ensure equality.

Trade Blockades have been a major point of contention, with India imposing blockades in 1975, 1989, and 2015. The 2015 blockade, which occurred after the earthquake, led Nepal to sign a trade and transit agreement with China. This blockade also caused severe fuel and medicine shortages, isolating Nepal from the rest of the world.

“Nepal's Constitution and Madhesi Ethnic Minorities” is another issue. Nepal's new constitution marginalized Madhesi ethnic minorities, who are culturally close to India. This led to violent protests and demands for India to intervene in 2015. India's response was to launch a massive blockade, which further exacerbated tensions.

 “Geographical Disadvantages” also play a role in Nepal's tensions with India. As a landlocked nation, Nepal relies heavily on India for imports, including petroleum. India's control over Nepal's borders and trade routes has led to feelings of frustration and dependence.

 “China's Influence” is also a factor, with Nepal seeking to balance its relationships between India and China. Nepal remained in bargaining mode, has signed trade agreements with China and receives financial aid from both nations.

 It's clear that this sensitive issue requires careful diplomacy to resolve. By acknowledging the shared cultural significance of Buddhism, India and Nepal can work towards strengthening their ties and promoting regional peace.

Despite these tensions, recent developments suggest a thawing in relations. Nepal's Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba's visit to India in August 2024 marked a new achievement in energy trade, with Nepal importing an additional 251 MW of electricity from India. This cooperation aligns with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of regional development through economic collaboration.

In summary, while India has been supportive of Nepal in times of crisis, several issues have contributed to tensions and frustrations between the two nations.

 It's essential for both nations to address these underlying issues to strengthen their relationship, focusing on mutual benefit and respect for sovereignty.

हरसिद्धि। चर्चित आरटीआई कार्यकर्ता बिपिन अग्रवाल हत्याकांड में पुलिस ने गुरुवार को फरार अभियुक्तों के घर डुगडुगी बजाकर इश्तेहार चिपकाया। इस कार्रवाई से हरसिद्धि बाजार में हड़कंप मच गया।

थानाध्यक्ष ज्वाला कुमार सिंह ने बताया कि बिपिन अग्रवाल हत्याकांड संख्या 386/21 के फरार अभियुक्त पप्पू खंडेलवाल, कुंजीलाल साह,  गौतम अग्रवाल, हीरा अग्रवाल, भुवाल प्रसाद एवं प्रमोद अग्रवाल के घर पर इश्तेहार चिपकाया गया है। निर्धारित समय सीमा के अंदर यदि ये  न्यायालय में आत्मसमर्पण नहीं करते हैं, तो उनका कुर्की जब्ती तय है।

विदित हो कि पिछले साल बिपिन अग्रवाल की हत्या दिनदहाड़े प्रखंड कार्यालय के समीप मुख्य सड़क पर अपराधियों ने गोली मारकर हत्या कर दी थी।

मोतिहारी । भारत नेपाल सीमा पर एसएसबी के जवानो और एक मुखिया के समर्थको के बीच झडप होने की खबर प्राप्त हुई है। बताया जा रहा है कि वाहन जांच के दौरान बढ़े विवाद में एसएसबी एवं मुखिया समर्थक में हुई झड़प के दौरान जमकर रोड़ेबाजी और डंडे चले है। जिसमे कई जवान समेत आम नागरिक आंशिक रूप से चोटिल हुए बताये जा रहे है। 

घटना घोडासहन के एसएसबी के 71 वी वाहिनी के नयका टोला चौकी के समीप हुई बतायी जा रही है।जहां एसएसबी के द्धारा नेपाल से भारत मे आनेवाली गाडियो की चेंकिग की जा रही थी। इसी दौरान आदापुर प्रखंड के सिरसिया कला पंचायत के मुखिया जाफर अली उर्फ बच्चू की गाडी को चेकिग के लिए रोका गया।जिसके बाद एसएसबी जवान और मुखिया के समर्थको मे कहासुनी हुई और देखते देखते मामला रोडेबाजी और लाठी डंडो मे तब्दील हो गया। जिसमे कई जवान समेत आम नागरिक चोटिल हो गये। हालांकि मौके पर एसएसबी के अधिकारियो के साथ पहुंचे कई थानो की पुलिस एवं कुछ जन प्रतिनिधियो के तत्परता के कारण मामले मे बीच बचाव कर पूरे तनाव पर काबू पा लिया गया।जानकारी के अनुसार इस मामले मे कोई प्राथमिकी दर्ज नही की गयी है।

मोतिहारी। होलिका दहन और होली को लेकर प्रशासनिक स्तर पर व्यवस्था चाक चौबंद कर दी गयी है। पुलिस अधीक्षक डॉ. कुमार आशीष के द्वारा शब-ए-बारात और होली को लेकर असामाजिक तत्वों पर निरोधात्मक कार्रवाई के मद्देनजर सोशल मीडिया की निगरानी तेज कर दी गयी है, वही थाने स्तर पर शांति समिति की बैठक का आयोजन कर ग्रामीणों और पुलिस के बीच की दिवार को ख़त्म करने का प्रयास किया जा रहा है। 

पुलिस अधीक्षक डॉ. कुमार आशीष ने कहा कि होली के मद्देनजर भारत- नेपाल सीमा को पूरी तरह सील कर दिया गया है, ताकि शराब की आवाजाही को पूर्णतः प्रतिबंधित रखी जा सके। वही सभी तरह की मादक पदार्थों पर निगरानी के मद्देनजर एक विशेष निगरानी टीम गठित की गयी है। रेलवे स्टेशन, बस स्टैंड, ईदगाह, कब्रिस्तान इत्यादि संवेदनशील स्थानों पर पुलिस विशेष निगरानी रख रही है। वही धार्मिक विवाद, भूमि विवाद एवं अन्य विवाद से संबंधित मामलों की समीक्षा करते हुए उनका समाधान सुनिश्चित किया जा रहा है। उन्होंने कहा कि अश्लील गायन, अश्लील टिप्पणी पर विशेष ध्यान दिया जा रहा है साथ ही सोशल मीडिया पर निगरानी रखते हुए अफवाहों पर पुलिस विशेष ध्यान रख रही है। यदि कोई गलत अफवाह फैलाया जाता है तो संज्ञान में आने पर उसका तुरंत खंडन किया जाएगा। त्योहारों के मद्देनजर अग्निशमन दस्ता को तैयार हालत में रखा गया है साथ ही त्योहारों को देखते हुए एएलटीएफ एवं वज्र टीम का वृहद उपयोग किया जा रहा है। डीजे के मालिक एवं ऑपरेटर का रिकॉर्ड रखने की कार्रवाई की जा रही है। पिछले वर्षों में पर्व- त्योहारों के अवसर पर यदि किसी प्रकार की अप्रिय घटना घटित हुई है, तो उन संवेदनशील स्थलों की पहचान कर आवश्यक सतर्कतामूलक एवं निरोधात्मक कार्रवाई की जा रही है। बताया जाता है कि भारत- नेपाल सीमा को पूर्णतः सील करने की कार्रवाई, गश्ती बढ़ाने की कार्रवाई एवं सीमावर्ती इलाकों में एएलटीएफ के प्रभावी उपयोग की कार्रवाई की जा रही है।

संवेदनशील स्थानों पर बैरियर लगाकर जांच की जा रही है। सीमा सुरक्षा बल के सूचना तंत्र का उपयोग किया जा रहा है। मद्य निषेध से संबंधित मामलों में एएलटीएफ के माध्यम से ब्रेथ एनालाइजर का उपयोग किया जा रहा है। सभी थानों के मुसहर टोली की मैपिंग की जा रही है तथा प्रत्येक सप्ताह रैंडम छापेमारी की व्यवस्था सुनिश्चित की जा रही है।

नदियों में विशेष रूप से गश्ती की व्यवस्था की गई है। एसएसबी के साथ संयुक्त गश्ती की व्यवस्था की गई है। शराब की होम डिलीवरी पर सूचना की मदद से विशेष निगरानी रखी जा रही है। बिहार गृहरक्षा वाहिनी के जवानों को भी शराबबंदी के विरुद्ध अभियान में मोबिलाइज किया गया है।

मोतिहारी: भारत-नेपाल सीमा पर स्थित रक्सौल बॉर्डर से पीएमसी (पंजाब एंड सिन्ध बैंक) के 4355 करोड़ स्कैम के मुख्य आरोपी बैंक के डायरेक्टर दलजीत सिंह बल को भारतीय सुरक्षा एजेंसियों ने गिरफ्तार किया है। दलजीत सिंह बल पीएमसी बैंक के डायरेक्टर थे और वह भारतीय सीमा पार कर नेपाल भागने के फिराक में थे। पीएमसी बैंक स्कैम के मुख्य आरोपी बैंक के डायरेक्टर दलजीत सिंह बल थे। इस बैंक स्कैम की जांच प्रवर्तन निदेशालय कर रहा है। मामले में कई लोगों के खिलाफ जांच चल रही है। जबकि इस मामले में दलजीत सिंह बल फरार चल रहे थे। जिनकी तलाश की जा रही थी।

2019 में 4355 करोड़ का घोटाला हुआ था। इकनॉमिक्स ऑफेंस विंग (EOW) आज रक्सौल पहुंचेगी। भारत-नेपाल के रक्सौल बॉर्डर से महाराष्ट्र के पीएमसी बैंक में हुए घोटाले के मुख्य आरोपी को देश छोड़ कर भागने के दौरान गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया। इस बैंक स्कैम की जांच महाराष्ट्र इकनॉमिक्स ऑफेंस विंग कर रही थी। लेकिन, दलजीत सिंह बल लगातार जांच एजेंसी को चकमा देकर फरार हो रहे थे।

पूछताछ में उन्होंने बताया कि देश छोड़कर नेपाल के रास्ते कनाडा भगाने के फिराक में था। महाराष्ट्र से रक्सौल बॉर्डर तक बड़ी आसानी से पहुंच गया। लेकिन, नेपाल में इंटर करने से 200 मीटर पहले ही इमीग्रेशन विभाग ने पीएमसी बैंक के डायरेक्टर दलजीत सिंह बल को हिरासत में ले लिया। इमीग्रेशन विभाग ने मुंबई इकनॉमिक्स ऑफेंस विंग विभाग को सूचना दे दी। मुख्य अभी दलजीत सिंह बल को रक्सौल थाना में रखा गया। सूत्रों की मानें तो इकनॉमिक्स ऑफेंस विंग की टीम पटना पहुंच चुकी है। मामले में कोई भी अधिकारी कुछ नहीं बोल रहे हैं।

Yes, talking about late Ramdeo Dwivedi- a poet, dramatist and prose writer, better known by his pen name ‘Almast’, who born and brought up in a nondescript village of East Champaran named “Dubey Tola’ falls under Sangrampur police station and enlightened the world of Hindi and Bhojpuri literature.

His timeless patriotic poems, prose and literary works are still relevant, even after 74 years of the freedom movement. His words inspired the young guns of then British India to revolt against then foreign rulers. East Champaran has also been the birth place of millennium English writer George Orwell. Like George Orwell, Ramdeo ‘Almast’ had also been missing from media glare until recently. Most controversial parts of ‘Almast’s life was a shoot- at- sight order issued against him by them Nepal’s king. The order however snatched his job as lecturer in a college located in Birgunj in Nepal. He was posted their as Hindi teacher after completing master in Hindi in 1952. He wrote a Bhojpuri poem ‘ e kanha raja vinas kaelakh desh ke” ( this blind king destruct the country ). Then he was posted as teacher in a high school in Sahebgunj and after that he got his retirement from a workers college in Jamshedpur.

 In a poet gathering cum Musayara’ organized in a Dharmshala in Sahebgunj, the poets and literati’s participated this gathering underlined Almast ji’s works of Hindi and Bhojpuri literature. Dr Ajimullah Ansari, Shashi Ranjan Shashi, Dr Jaykant Singh Jay, Dr Brajbhusan Mishra, Kaushal Muhabbatpuri, Kameshwar Mishra ‘Ghumakkad’, Sudama Prasad Sarraf, Binda Ray ‘ Bagi’, Bigan Ray, Sohan Lal Diwana, Ramnath Paswan, Baidhnath Vidhyarthi, Farrokh Sahebgunjavi also participated the event. Ramdeo Dwivedi Almast son- in-law Amarnath Pandey told BNM that his father inlaw Almast ji had done much for Bhojpuri and Hindi literature and motivated youths from his numbers of verseS during freedom movement. KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba has said that women's rights have been ensured in every body, level, structure and structure of the state. Nepali Congress central member Dr. Releasing a book titled 'Nepali's Dream Unfulfilled' written by Dilla Sangraula on Saturday, he claimed that Nepal is a special country in giving reservation rights to women.

Prime Minister Deuba, who is also the president of the Nepali Congress, said that the government and political parties were also serious about women's rights and participation. Giving the example that Nepal is a country of proportional representation, he said that inclusive proportional representation has been provided to the Dalit, Adivasi and Janajati backward areas by reserving them.

On the occasion, Prime Minister Deuba said that Netra Sangraula was a hard worker and a person who was fighting for the rights of women.

BIRGUNJ (NEPAL): In the fifth district convention of Press Chautari Nepal, Parsa scribes body hit hard UML leader KP Oli.

Inaugurating the convention, Press Chautari Nepal President Ganesh Basnet accused UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli of using the slogan 'Prosperous Nepal, Happy Nepali' by borrowing it from Gagan Thapa of the Nepali Congress and Chairman of the CPN-Maoist Center Prachanda.

Basnet said that the slogan of Chautari was similar to the UML's slogan of 'Strong, Working Journalist, Press Freedom and Professional Journalism for Building Prosperous Nepal'. He suggested the journalists affiliated with Chautari to share the list of good deeds done by the UML government with the people. Meanwhile, the convention held today has unanimously selected a new 25-member working committee under the chairmanship of Banjara. The working committee consists of Vice-Chairperson Tulasi Bhandari, Kavita Khadka, Secretary Rajendra Singh Nepali, Joint Secretary Mohammad Saddab, Santosh Patel and Treasurer Rakesh Sahal.

The advisors are Pratap Shrestha, Mahesh Chandra Gautam, Kiran Raj Pandey, Saroj Khadka, Manoj Mishra, Yuvraj Khadka and Laxmi Kharel while the central representatives are Mahesh Das, Anup Tiwari, Mahesh Chandra Gautam and Sushma Sharma.
