Chancellor of MGCUB  Dr Mahesh Sharma wrote a letter to President of India-the visitor of MGCUB to initiate appropriate inquiry against MGCUB Vice-Chancellor and ask the VC to go on leave until the inquiry of the charges being leveled against him is completed.

MOTIHARI: The Vice- Chancellor of  Mahatma Gandhi Central university (MGCUB) at Motihari Sanjeev Kumar Sharma is likely to face ‘forced leave’ – the way the first VC Arvind Agrawal , who was also asked to leave due to serious misconducts.

The letter sent on May 11, 2020 and reminder of which sent few days ago sought urgent interventions of president of India to uphold the provisions of Central University Act. Two pages letters in which Chancellor suggested three grounds to look in to that includes various provisions of the central university Act and directives of MHRD are being violated continuously during the last several months. These are related to functioning of executive Council (EC) and academic council (AC) and other administrative, financial and academic affairs. There are series of representations, complains and petitions during last one years specially regarding irregularities in the appointments of VC and in various departments including Gandhian studies. The conducts of the VC is totally against the ethical norms expected from a central university named after Mahatma Gandhi. He is habitual to lie, liquor and more, Chancellor said adding that he is deeply concerned the VC ignored various instruction related to Gandhi-150 celebrations. The university court had decided in its maiden meeting that an inter Disciplinary Center for sustainable development will be established as part of celebrations naming after Dr Rajendra Prasad-the first president of india.

Chancellor said, this university is being run in an ad-hoc manner and there are still no regular appointments for registrar or finance officer. An OSD on contract is handling administrative and financial matter, as this suit VC.  Even a regular Pro VC has been relieved in arbitrary manner few months ago as this man was well conversant with rule and regulation but did not oblige VC in illegal affairs, chancellor pointed out.  Chancellor raises question on why MHRD did not take actions in spite of several complaints including complaints through VIPs and Ministers (more than 20 references so far, some of them given in attached PDF like letter of MLC Kedar Nath Pandey, Minister Pramod Kumar, Union Cabinet Minister Giriraj Singh and reminder by his PS, MP Kavita Singh, 4th reminder of MP Dr Arun Kumar etc.

Sandeep Pahal, a Supreme Court advocate and  a noted RTI activists told to ‘Border News Mirror’ that chancellor has wrote this letter based on earlier  complaints regarding mass financial and administrative corruption in Mahatma Gandhi Central University, Bihar (MGCUB) especially recruitment scam, forgery, financial embezzlement etc. with request for CBI inquiry on all issues. Most of the allegations have been proved through RTI information’s procured by him. VC Sanjeev Sharma had openly announced that he will not comment to media on cell phone. Abiding by his pledge, he refused to comment on BNM quarries.
