New Delhi In the programme ‘Mann Ki Baat’, broadcasted on the last Sunday of every month, Prime Minister Narendra Modi discussed in detail about nature and festivals, the tireless efforts of farmers and the possibilities of toy industry in India and about nutrition month. PM Modi saluted the farmers and said that this time the sowing of Kharif crop has been increased by 7 percent as compared to the previous year. This time rice has been sown 10 percent more, pulses about 5 percent more, coarse grains 3 percent more, oilseeds 13 percent more and cotton about 3 percent more. For this he congratulated the farmers of the country and saluted their hard work.

PM Modi said that the country is fighting on many fronts in the Corona era. Children have also been at home for quite some time. In such a situation, new toys should come in the market for them. Toys give flight to our aspirations, make up minds and also create motives. He said that unfinished toys are often good, which are completed by children while playing. On how toys should be, PM Modi said that education in sports and games has also been emphasised in the National Education Policy. Local toys have a rich tradition. There are toy corridors in the country, Ramanagaram in Karnataka, Kondapalli in Andhra Pradesh, Dhubri in Assam, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh. The toy market in the world is more than 7 lakh crore but India’s share in it is very less.

He said that in the nation which has such a heritage, tradition, diversity and youngsters too, the toy market share is low. The toy market is quite large. The country will have to work together to take it forward. Referring to Andhra Pradesh’s CV Raju, he said that he brought back the pride of local toys in the region. He said that computer games are also in trend. Calling on the youth, he said that they should also include Indian culture in this game. Everyone has an important role to play in ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’ The youth should work on new ideas towards creating ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat.’  Many youngsters have prepared good apps in this series as well.

PM Modi said that the month of September will be celebrated in the country as Nutrition Month. He said that mental development takes place as soon as there is food. Public participation is also necessary to make people aware of nutrition. A Nutrition Park has been built near the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel Statue in Gujarat, it is a must see. There is diversity in food and beverages in the country, so it is important and nutrient-rich coarse grains should also be included in the diet. For the purpose of revealing the nutritional value of grains, the Agricultural Fund of India is being prepared in which states will know how much nutrient is there in what is being produced.

PM Modi said that Sophie and Vida, the dogs of our security forces of the Indian Army have got the title of Chief of Army Commandate. These dogs have done their duty well while protecting the country. They live for the country.

While invoking the youth, PM Modi said that in the 75th year of independence, students will write poems and drama stories on 75 heroes of their region. This effort can bring out thousands of unsung heroes of the country who laid down their lives for the country but their names have disappeared over time, it would be a true tribute to them by bringing forth such great personalities.

The youth must remember those martyrs who laid down their lives for the country. Students should know about the martyrs of their region, which will influence their personality. Teachers can play a big role in this. Teachers can get children to do research in this regard. Students can be taken to any place associated with the freedom movement.
