 MOTIHARI: IN a bizarre case of murder, the 4^th Additional Session judge, Motihari on Wednesday sentenced wife and mother in law to life imprisonments in a 2022 case of a 42 year old Irshad aks Bablu.

The court found these two named accused guilty and awarded the life imprisonment to them under section 302 & 34 IPC. Irshad was strangulated on 13/9/2022 in Siswa Sove village falls within Kalyanpur police station of East Champaran district. The third accused Nashim Akhater- alleged lover of wife Sajda Khatoon is still evading police arrest.

The court of Raghvendra Narayan Singh meticulously went through the evidence on records of a case number 259/22 filed in Kakyanpur police station on 14/9/22. The named accused Khalikun Nesha (Mother In law of deceased) and Sajda Khatoon (Wife of deceased) were awarded life imprisonment. The court also slapped fine of Rs 7 thousands each convicts.

 Informant Sheikh Merajul Haq, father of deceased had alleged in his written statement on 13.09.2022 that his son namely Irshad Alam @ Bablu has been murdered by his wife Sajda Khatun, mother in law Khalikun Nesha along with other accused persons.

While hearing this interesting trials, the court has examined in total of 6 prosecution witnesses including the doctor and investigation officer. After trial the Court has found the accused persons guilty of murder of deceased Irshad Alam @ Bablu.

 Advocate Chaitanya, arguing counsel for the informant said that this case is not only a case of murder of an individual but it is a murder of trust and the sanctity of a relation between a wife and husband.

 As per section 106 of Indian Evidence Act, when incident took place in the house of accused persons onus lies upon the accused themselves as the fact of death was within his special knowledge hence the court has rightly convicted the accused persons for the murder of deceased Irshad Alam @ Bablu.

Additional Public Prosecutor (APP) Md Shahabuddin, said that the court has correctly found the accused persons guilty and in such a heinous crime where a wife having extra marital status found to be involved in a cold blooded murder of her hubby, should be marked as a rarest incident.

Investigation and Prosecution:

Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat has emphasized the importance of speedy trials, warning investigating officers against adopting a lackadaisical attitude in ensuring witnesses appear in court.

MOTIHARI: District Magistrate (DM) and Superintendent of police (SP) of East Champaran district – two top officials on Wednesday inspected various Chhat Ghhats in Motihari- ahead of Chhat Puja and instructed nagar nigam official to spruce up the Ghat locality.

 DM Saurabh Jorwal, SP Swarn Prabhat and Nagar Nigam commissioner Saurabh Yadav visited Hanuman Garhi Chhat Ghat and reviewed all the preparations going on there by Nagar Nigam to facilitate Chhat devotees.  

East Champaran's top officials are gearing up for Chhat Puja in Motihari. On Wednesday, District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal and Superintendent of Police Swarn Prabhat inspected various Chhat Ghats, including Hanuman Garhi Chhat Ghat, to ensure preparations are underway for the festival . They met with Nagar Nigam Commissioner Saurabh Yadav to review the locality's readiness.

Preparations and Guidelines:

- Cleaning and Painting: DM Saurabh Jorwal ordered the immediate cleaning and painting of the Chhat Ghat.

- Safety Measures: Spray bleaching powder and barricading are to be done considering the depth of water.

- Foolproof Arrangements: DM emphasized the need for safety and conveyance arrangements to facilitate devotees.

- Boat Safety: Guidelines were listed to avoid any boat tragedies.

With millions of devotees expected to attend, the officials are keen to ensure a peaceful and successful celebration.

DM directed to get the Chhat Ghat cleaned and get it painted immediately. “Spray bleaching powder and barricading done considering the depth of water”, DM instructed adding all the work should be done on time so that Devotees coming to Ghat do not face any problem.

DM said that the foolproof arrangement for the safety and conveyance needed to facilitate devotees on Ghat this year. Keen to avoid any boat tragedy, he listed many guidelines. Notably, millions of devotes are expected to offer their prayers on the occasion and SP and DM is keen to get this festival celebrated peacefully.

MOTIHARI: While Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked central government department to earmark deadwood and dishonest officers in every few months, Bihar government would turn deaf ears when matters come to the corrupt officials in state.

 A circle officer of Ghodasahan- a block in East Champaran district in Bihar is under fire since he was slapped a notice by Abhishek Kumar - deputy collector (DC) of land reform at Dhaka alleging his malafied intension behind his “repeat order” of measurement of a piece of land in dispute.

DC annulled CO’s order of ‘’repeat measurement and ordered every concerned parties and CO  to appear before court. Circle officer Shivshankar Gupta is facing embracement after the notice, which was however, yet to be responded.

 Gupta’s highhandedness and his alleged ‘corrupt practices’ on Indo-Nepal border in benefiting realtors and land grabbers hit the headlines many times. In many instances, he would cancel mutation application and the same piece of land was mutated later on after allegedly entering in to under table dealings.  The allegations of accepting grafts for allowing files are common against him.

A local native Baidhnath Pd Jaishwal said that circle officer has allowed a mutation of the land of a 100 year old well leading a deadly civil dispute among villagers. The government has sanctioned a huge amount and has been parroting protections, preservations of water body, well , ponds, rivers, and canals but his own officers are allowing and helping out realtors to grab year old water bodies.

The matter of well is related to ward number 3 under Dakshini Panchayat of Ghodasahan and a land of math (temple) belongs to Khesara number 43 has been sold out and mutated and a piece of land belongs to Khesara number 2211 in ward number 3 under Mauja Ghodasahan belongs to state land but Circle officer also ordered measurement for the said land on alleged influence of real estate mafias and also on local political pressures. Needless to say, circle office paving the ways for grabbing government lands.

Besides, residents of village Sripur Manai Tola Vinod Kumar Yadav clearly accused Circle officer for demanding Rs one lakhs against a mutation of a piece of land. In an application filed before district magistrate of East champaran, Vinod alleged that Circle officer muted his land bearing khata number 8 plot number 3239 area 3 kathas to the name of another person’s while he purchased from a bonafied owner who has already a jamabandi number 1615.
