MOTIHARI: Journalists from across Jharkhand, under the aegis of the Jharkhand Journalist Association, staged a day-long dharna outside the Jharkhand Vidhan Sabha, demanding the implementation of long-pending welfare and security measures for media professionals. The protest witnessed participation from a large number of journalists, reflecting growing discontent within the fraternity over unmet promises.

The sit-in gained national attention as prominent figures, including Shahnawaj Hasan, National General Secretary of the Bharti Shramjivi Patrakar Sangh (BSPS), and Ajay Kumar, Bihar BSPS chief extended their support by joining the demonstration. Journalists from various parts of the country also expressed solidarity, underlining the wider significance of the demands raised in Jharkhand.

Protesters reiterated their key demands, including the immediate implementation of a journalist pension scheme, free health insurance, housing facilities for landless journalists, and the enactment of a comprehensive journalist protection law.

They also called for the formation of an elected accreditation committee with authority over advertisement policies, arguing that such reforms are essential to ensure transparency and independence in media operations.

The association highlighted that similar welfare schemes are already operational in states like Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Telangana, and Maharashtra, and urged the Jharkhand government to follow suit.

It also recalled assurances made by Hemant Soren prior to the Assembly elections regarding the fulfillment of these demands within a stipulated timeframe.
Despite more than a year having passed since the formation of the current government, the journalists alleged that no concrete steps have been taken.
They warned that if their demands continue to be ignored, they would be compelled to intensify their agitation in the coming days.
The protest concluded peacefully, with a renewed call for dialogue and swift government action to safeguard the rights and welfare of journalists in the state.

MOTIHARI: In a stark reminder of media accountability, East Champaran District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal has decisively countered a baseless Zee News digital report accusing him of enabling the sale of land tied to the defunct Chakia Sugar Factory.

The unverified story, swiftly retracted after administrative pushback, underscores the perils of sensationalism masquerading as journalism.

District officials dismissed the Zee News piece—published on the platform founded by media mogul Subhash Chandra—as "fabricated and malicious.

" It is utter misuse of freedom of speech
as without quoting DM or verifying facts, the story was carried.

"This was a deliberate attempt to tarnish the DM's reputation and manipulate public perception," an anonymous official told.

DM Jorwal's prompt clarification via the official Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) whatupp group dismantled the claims.

"No official can order land sales or purchases. The administration only facilitates regulatory compliance and court directives," he stated.

Officials confirmed the Chakia factory land registry adhered strictly to judicial orders, with no administrative overreach.

Zee News deleted the report following the rebuttal, but the reporter allegedly peddled similar versions elsewhere. Allegely to declare false narative true to appease his false ego, the official said.

This isn't isolated. The reporter previously targeted a bilingual newspaper journalist based in Motihari.

The journalists, in his one of the report had questioned Mahatma Gandhi Central University's Vice-Chancellor appointment.

The same reporter in the zee news digital portal falsely claimed that a defamation notice would be issued against the said journalists for questioning VC' appointment revealing his illegal proximities with VC.

University sources however, denied any such action, exposing another unverifiable narrative by the same reporter on the same platform.

The District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) Gyaneshwar Prakash indicated potential legal steps against the zee news reporter and platform for disseminating "biased, unverified information."

"We're evaluating action under Press Council of India guidelines," the DPRO said.

DM Jorwal's firm stance exemplifies administrative transparency amid Bihar's complex land disputes, particularly around shuttered sugar mills like Chakia and Motihari.

As digital media proliferates, this episode reignites debates on ethical reporting versus clickbait.

Jorwal's response not only vindicates his office but spotlights the need for fact-checked journalism.

अग़वा छात्रा सकुशल बरामद, दो अभियुक्त गिरफ्तार

अभियुक्तों ने वादिनी की पुत्री को स्कूल से घर लौटने के दौरान अपहरण कर लिया था। मामले की सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए छात्रा को बरामद किया और दोनों अभियुक्तों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया।

मोतिहारी। तुरकौलिया थाना अंतर्गत कांड संख्या–36/26 (पोक्सो एक्ट), दिनांक 19 जनवरी 2026 को दर्ज मामले में पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए अग़वा छात्रा को सकुशल बरामद कर लिया है। इस कांड में नामजद दो अभियुक्तों को भी गिरफ्तार किया गया है।

गिरफ्तार अभियुक्तों की पहचान राज कुमार, पिता–रमेश चौधरी एवं कारण कुमार, पिता–स्व. उमेश चौधरी, दोनों निवासी–कोरैया, थाना–तुरकौलिया, जिला–पूर्वी चंपारण (मोतिहारी) के रूप में की गई है।

पुलिस के अनुसार आरोप है कि अभियुक्तों ने वादिनी की पुत्री को स्कूल से घर लौटने के दौरान अपहरण कर लिया था। मामले की सूचना मिलते ही पुलिस ने त्वरित कार्रवाई करते हुए छात्रा को बरामद किया और दोनों अभियुक्तों को गिरफ्तार कर लिया।

गिरफ्तार अभियुक्तों के विरुद्ध पोक्सो अधिनियम सहित संबंधित धाराओं के तहत अग्रिम कानूनी कार्रवाई की जा रही है। पुलिस प्रशासन ने स्पष्ट किया है कि नाबालिगों से जुड़े अपराधों में किसी भी तरह की लापरवाही नहीं बरती जाएगी और दोषियों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की जाएगी।

पटना से लेकर मोतिहारी तक मुख्यमंत्री नीतीश कुमार की समृद्धि यात्रा केवल एक सरकारी कार्यक्रम नहीं, बल्कि बिहार के प्रशासनिक रवैये में बड़े बदलाव का संकेत देती है। पूर्वी चम्पारण में आयोजित समीक्षा बैठक और निरीक्षणों के दौरान मुख्यमंत्री ने जिस तरह “सबका सम्मान–जीवन आसान” को शासन का मूल मंत्र बताया, वह सीधे तौर पर जनता और प्रशासन के रिश्ते को नए सिरे से परिभाषित करता है।

मुख्यमंत्री का स्पष्ट संदेश है कि विकास केवल सड़कों, पुलों और भवनों तक सीमित नहीं होना चाहिए, बल्कि आम नागरिक के रोजमर्रा के जीवन को सरल बनाना ही असली विकास है।

इसी सोच के तहत सात निश्चय–3 के सातवें निश्चय ‘सबका सम्मान–जीवन आसान (Ease of Living)’ को जमीन पर उतारने की कोशिश तेज की गई है। अधिकारियों को निर्देश दिया गया है कि हर सप्ताह सोमवार और शुक्रवार को सभी सरकारी कार्यालयों में आम लोग सम्मानपूर्वक अपनी शिकायतें रख सकें और उनका समयबद्ध समाधान हो।

यह निर्देश प्रशासनिक संस्कृति में बड़ा बदलाव माना जा रहा है। बिहार में अक्सर यह शिकायत रही है कि सरकारी दफ्तरों में आम आदमी को सुनवाई के लिए बार-बार चक्कर काटने पड़ते हैं। यदि यह व्यवस्था प्रभावी ढंग से लागू होती है, तो ग्राम पंचायत से लेकर राज्य स्तर तक जनता को सीधे संवाद का मंच मिलेगा। साथ ही, पेयजल, शौचालय और बैठने जैसी बुनियादी सुविधाओं पर जोर यह दर्शाता है कि सरकार केवल फाइलों के निपटारे तक सीमित नहीं रहना चाहती।

पूर्वी चम्पारण की समीक्षा बैठक में विकास योजनाओं की प्रगति भी केंद्र में रही। जिलाधिकारी द्वारा प्रस्तुत आंकड़ों से स्पष्ट है कि सात निश्चय–2 की योजनाओं में गति आई है, जबकि सात निश्चय–3 के तहत नए लक्ष्यों पर काम शुरू हो चुका है। मुख्यमंत्री ने साफ कहा कि स्वीकृत योजनाओं में देरी बर्दाश्त नहीं होगी। यह संकेत नौकरशाही के लिए सख्त संदेश है कि अब जवाबदेही तय होगी।

समृद्धि यात्रा के दौरान मोतिहारी में महिला आईटीआई का निरीक्षण, टाटा टेक के सहयोग से चल रहे प्रशिक्षण कार्यक्रम और छात्राओं से सीधा संवाद यह बताता है कि सरकार रोजगार और कौशल विकास को दीर्घकालिक निवेश मान रही है। इसके साथ ही 34 करोड़ की नई योजनाओं का शिलान्यास और 138 करोड़ की योजनाओं का उद्घाटन यह दर्शाता है कि पूर्वी चम्पारण को विकास के नक्शे पर विशेष महत्व दिया जा रहा है।

जीविका दीदियों और लघु उद्यमियों के स्टॉल का निरीक्षण, 370 करोड़ रुपये की बैंक लिंकेज सहायता और स्वरोजगार पर जोर ग्रामीण अर्थव्यवस्था को मजबूत करने की रणनीति का हिस्सा है। वहीं धनौती नदी पर निर्माणाधीन आरसीसी पुल और विराट रामायण मंदिर जैसे प्रोजेक्ट विकास के साथ सांस्कृतिक पहचान को भी जोड़ते हैं।

कुल मिलाकर, यह दौरा केवल घोषणाओं तक सीमित नहीं रहा। असली परीक्षा अब 19 जनवरी 2026 से शुरू होने वाली “जन-सुनवाई व्यवस्था” की होगी। यदि यह व्यवस्था ईमानदारी से लागू हुई, तो बिहार में शासन का चेहरा बदल सकता है। सम्मान, संवेदनशीलता और समाधान—यही इस नई प्रशासनिक सोच की असली कसौटी होगी।

मोतिहारी | हरसिद्धि थाना क्षेत्र के रौशन हॉस्पिटल के चिकित्सक डॉ. नीरज कुमार पर शादी का झांसा देकर पांच वर्षों तक शारीरिक-मानसिक शोषण और दहेज की मांग का गंभीर आरोप लगा है।

पीड़िता ने हरसिद्धि पुलिस के दरोगा राजेश कुमार और अपर थानाध्यक्ष संतोषी क़ो भी अपने गंभीर आरोपों से कटघरे में खड़ा किया है. संतोषी पर पीड़िता क़ो धमकाने एवं राजेश पर सादे कागज पर हस्ताक्षर कर दर्ज प्राथमिकी में कुछ तथ्यों क़ो छुपा लेने क़ा आरोप लगा है।

आवेदन पर हरसिद्धि थाने में प्राथमिकी दर्ज हो चुकी है। एफआईआर के बाद डॉ. नीरज फरार हो गए हैं और अस्पताल में ताला जड़ दिया गया है।

इस मामले में पुलिस ने जांच तेज कर दी है। हरसिद्धि थाना क्षेत्र के एक गांव की रहने वाली पीड़िता ने बताया कि पांच वर्ष पूर्व उसकी बहन की सर्जरी रौशन हॉस्पिटल, हरसिद्धि में हुई थी। इसी दौरान डॉ. नीरज कुमार का संपर्क हुआ, जिन्होंने शादी का वादा कर शारीरिक संबंध बनाए। मूल रूप से दूधही निवासी डॉ. नीरज ने पीड़िता को नेपाल, रामनगर समेत कई जगहों पर रखा। आठ माह पूर्व हॉस्पिटल में ही शादी रचा ली, जिसका वीडियो वायरल है, लेकिन छपवा ले जाकर छोड़ दिया।

जब पीड़िता घर ले जाने की बात की तो डॉ. नीरज, उनके पिता मुख्तार साहनी, भाई अरविंद कुमार, बहन आरती कुमारी और मां ने 10 लाख रुपये नकद व एक वाहन दहेज की मांग की। मांग न मानने पर जान से मारने की धमकी दी गई। पीड़िता ने आरोप लगाया कि डॉ. नीरज दूसरी शादी की तैयारी कर रहे हैं।

मामले ने तूल पकड़ लिया है, लेकिन थाने के प्रभारी आरक्षी उपाधीक्षक प्रशिक्षु ऋषभ कुमार ने बीएनएम से बातचीत में सभी आरोपों को सिरे से खारिज कर दिया। उन्होंने कहा, "आरोप पूरी तरह निराधार हैं। सादे कागज पर किसी से हस्ताक्षर नहीं लिए गए।

प्राथमिकी पारदर्शी तरीके से दर्ज हुई है।" पीड़िता ने अपर थानाध्यक्ष और दरोगा राजेश कुमार पर गंभीर आरोप लगाए थे कि उन्होंने सादे कागज पर हस्ताक्षर कर स्वयं एफआईआर लिखी और मामले में बार-बार धमकी दी। एसएचओ ऋषभ कुमार ने स्पष्ट किया कि ऐसी कोई अनियमितता नहीं हुई।

पुलिस ने मामले में एक अभियुक्त को गिरफ्तार कर लिया है, बाकी की तलाश तेज है। हरसिद्धि थाना पुलिस छापेमारी कर रही है।

डॉ. नीरज का हॉस्पिटल में ताला लगा पड़ा है। एसएचओ ने भरोसा दिलाया कि दोषियों को जल्द सलाखों के पीछे डाला जाएगा। पीड़िता को न्याय मिलेगा।
यह मामला हरसिद्धि क्षेत्र में सनसनी फैला रहा है। स्थानीय लोग पुलिस की कार्रवाई का इंतजार कर रहे हैं।

जांच में नया मोड़ आ सकता है। अपर थानाध्यक्ष संतोषी पर आम लोगों के साथ भी बुरे बर्ताव के आरोप लेगे, लेकिन नये प्रभारी के कार्यक्लाप क़ी प्रशंसा हुईं।

रक्सौल में व्यवसायी मोहम्मद कलीम के ठिकानों पर आयकर विभाग की छापेमारी: दूसरे दिन भी जारी जांच

रक्सौल : बिहार के रक्सौल शहर में आयकर विभाग ने प्रमुख व्यवसायी मोहम्मद कलीम के 16 से अधिक ठिकानों पर छापेमारी तेज कर दी है।

शनिवार सुबह घने कोहरे और कड़ाके की ठंड में शुरू हुई यह कार्रवाई रविवार को दूसरे दिन भी जारी रही।

आयकर अधिकारियों ने केंद्रीय सुरक्षा बलों की मदद से लक्ष्मीपुर बाइक शोरूम, पंकज सिनेमा चौक ज्वेलरी शोरूम, आदापुर थाना क्षेत्र के पैतृक घर, अल्ट्रासाउंड सेंटर और अन्य प्रतिष्ठानों पर दस्तावेजों, डिजिटल रिकॉर्ड व बही-खातों की बारीकी से छानबीन की l

पटना, मुजफ्फरपुर और झारखंड से पहुंची आयकर टीम ने करीब एक दर्जन वाहनों के काफिले के साथ अचानक दबिश दी।

स्थानीय सूत्रों के अनुसार, छापेमारी आयकर फाइलिंग में गड़बड़ी व टैक्स चोरी के संदेह में की गई है।

अधिकारियों ने व्यवसायी कलीम, उनके परिवारजनों व कर्मचारियों से घंटों पूछताछ की तथा संपत्ति, आय-व्यय के पुराने रिकॉर्ड जब्त किए।

रक्सौल मुख्य पथ पर स्थित तनिष्क शोरूम व हीरो होंडा आउटलेट सहित सभी जगहों को घेर लिया गया।

शहर में इस कार्रवाई से हड़कंप मच गया। व्यापारिक समुदाय में बेचैनी फैल गई, क्योंकि कलीम रक्सौल के चर्चित कारोबारी हैं।
स्थानीय लोग अफवाहों के भंवर में उलझे हुए हैं, लेकिन आयकर विभाग ने फिलहाल कोई आधिकारिक बयान नहीं दिया।

सूत्र बताते हैं कि जांच में करोड़ों की अघोषित संपत्ति का पता चल सकता है। कार्रवाई के दौरान कोई गिरफ्तारी नहीं हुई, मगर अधिकारी रक्सौल में कैंप किए हुए हैं।

यह घटना बिहार के सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र में की गयी है इस लिए चर्चाओ क़ा बाजार गर्म है।

In Bihar’s East Champaran district, where a Circle Inspector was caught accepting ₹60,000 to derail a criminal investigation, the response from the top brass has stood out as an example of leadership rooted in integrity and resolve.

The swift suspension of Inspector Ashok Kumar Pandey and Investigating Officer Nidhi Kumari was not merely a procedural step; it was a strong moral statement.

Under the clear directions of DIG Harikishore Ray and SP Swarn Prabhat, the department demonstrated that corruption, regardless of rank or connection, will not be tolerated.

Their prompt action sent a powerful message down the chain of command: the uniform is a symbol of service, not a shield for wrongdoing.

रक्सौल : पूर्वी चंपारण ज़िले में रविवार का दिन पशु प्रेम और मानवीय संवेदना के अद्भुत उदाहरण के रूप में याद किया जा सकता है।

जहां एक ओर रामगढ़वा बाजार में एक प्रसिद्ध बेजुबान सांड “नंदी महाराज” को हिंदू रीति-रिवाज से अंतिम विदाई दी गई, वहीं मोतिहारी नगर थाना में एक व्यक्ति अपनी लापता बिल्ली की शिकायत लेकर पहुँचा, जिस पर पुलिस ने भी गंभीरता से कार्रवाई शुरू कर दी।

पहली घटना रामगढ़वा के गोला रोड की है, जहाँ बीते रविवार दोपहर नंदी महाराज घायल होकर गिर गए थे।

स्थानीय लोगों ने भ्रमणशील पशु चिकित्सा पदाधिकारी से संपर्क करने की कोशिश की, पर उनका मोबाइल बंद मिला।

बाद में एक निजी डॉक्टर को बुलाया गया, लेकिन रात साढ़े आठ बजे “नंदी महाराज” ने दम तोड़ दिया।उनके निधन के बाद गाँव भर में शोक की लहर दौड़ गई। पूर्व मुखिया अर्जुन प्रसाद, समाजसेवी कुणाल गुप्ता, कृष्णा कुमार उर्फ गब्बर, अंकित कुमार, राजेश गुप्ता, और सैकड़ों ग्रामीणों ने मिलकर नंदी महाराज का हिंदू परंपरा के अनुसार दाह संस्कार किया।

जेसीबी और ट्रैक्टर से शव को घाट तक ले जाया गया। स्थानीय थानाध्यक्ष राजीव साह के निर्देश पर चौकीदार सोनू यादव सुरक्षा व्यवस्था में मौजूद रहे।

उधर, दूसरी ओर मोतिहारी नगर थाना में एक ऐसी शिकायत दर्ज हुई जिसने प्रशासन और जनता दोनों को चौंका दिया। राजेश कुमार, निवासी मिस्कॉट क्षेत्र, ने अपनी पालतू बिल्ली के लापता होने की शिकायत दर्ज कराई।

राजेश ने बताया कि उनकी बिल्ली परिवार का सदस्य जैसी है और उसे लौटाने की गुहार लगाई।आश्चर्यजनक रूप से पुलिस ने भी इस मामले को संवेदनशीलता से लिया।

नगर थाना प्रभारी ने बिल्ली की फोटो सभी गश्ती दलों को सौंपकर तलाश का निर्देश दिया है। दोनों घटनाओं ने यह साबित किया कि संवेदना अभी भी ज़िंदा है। जहाँ रामगढ़वा में पशु को सम्मानजनक विदाई दी गई, वहीं मोतिहारी में इंसानों के साथ पशु के अधिकारों के प्रति नई जागरूकता दिखी है।

यह उदाहरण दिखाता है कि ज़िले में इंसानियत और करुणा केवल शब्द नहीं, बल्कि अब भी समाज की जीवंत भावना है — जहाँ पशु भी परिवार हैं, और संवेदना ही सबसे बड़ी संस्कृति।

MOTIHARI: Prasad Ratneshwar - a renowned theatre personality and playwright from Bihar’s Motihari city, was awarded the ‘National Honor’ for Performing Arts on Wednesday.

This award is supposed to be the highest honor bestowed by the state government on artists from Bihar and outside the state. Ratneshwar received a cash prize of one lakh rupees, a memento, certificate, and Angavastram as part of the Bihar Art Awards making waves in the various streams of lives in his home town Motihari.

Ratneshwar having 41 years of experience in theatres of Motihari, Patna, and Delhi produced a play called "Nilahi Kothi" in the Videsiya folk theatre style. The play was staged nationally and claimed many appreciations across the nation.

‘Nilahi Kothi’ underlines the dark sides of the British Empire and its persecution on the farmers of Champaran- the reason of “Champaran Satyagrah’ led by Mohan Das Kramchand Gandhi in 1917.

Ratneshar’s literary oddity was also similarly rich. His five books on poetry, ghazals, research thesis, research paper collections, and biographies were published that has been highly appreciably in the literature world. His thesis on ‘Tharu Tribe’ being presented as a new civilization in an event of China, created his international identity.

In Motihari- a bordering city, where Ratneshwar born and brought up enriched local theaters with stage and street plays and steered a number of unparalleled cultural and social events. His home town is celebrating this national award to an artist, poets, writer and playwrights. Creates new history for local theatre in ‘Champaran, where no local theatre artist had ever received such honor.

Ratneshwar, when asked, considered a tribute to thousands of theatre artists, who have contributed to the Motihari stage and expressed hope to revive the lost glories of Motihari’s rich theaters. The event is organized at Mourya Ashoka Hotel in Patna famous folk singer Bhrat Vyas also receives lifetime award along with Ratneshwar and others.

Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha, the chief guest, inaugurated the event by lighting the lamp. Held under the chairmanship of Motilal Prasad, Minister of Arts, Culture, and Youth, the ceremony was attended by special guests, including Secretary of the Department Pranav Kumar, Joint Secretary and Director of Cultural Affairs Mrs. Ruby, and several other senior officials.

हरसिद्धि थानाध्यक्ष पर पूर्व मे भी वरीय अधिकारियों को ‘मिस्लीड’ करने के आरोप लग चुके है। पूर्व मे थाना क्षेत्र के बैरिया डीह पंचायत के घोघराहा में जांच के दौरान एक पुलिस अधिकारी विभा रानी पर हमले की खबर आई, लेकिन इस मामले मे थानाध्यक्ष ने वरीय अधिकारी को सूचना दी की ऐसी कोई घटना नही घटी है। स्थानीय पत्रकारों पर आरोप लगा कि उनके द्वारा घटना को बढ़ा–चढ़ा कर पेश किया गया। जबकि घटना के एक दिन बाद उसी मामले मे पुलिस पर हमला के आरोप मे पांच लोगों को अभियुक्त बनाया गया।

मोतिहारी। हरसिद्धि थाना क्षेत्र के गायघाट चौक पर व्यवसायी कामता मिश्रा पर हुए कातिलाना हमले मामले मे पुलिस अब तक अंधेरे मे तीर मारती नजर आ रही है, जिसको लेकर स्थानीय पुलिस पर सवाल खड़े होने लगे है।

मोतिहारी एसपी स्वर्ण प्रभात, जो गंभीर कांडों को जल्द से जल्द उद्भेदन को लेकर पूरे बिहार मे सुर्खियों मे रह रहे है, उन्ही के अधिकारी के गलत व्यानी और उक्त मामले मे ‘शिथिलता’ सवालों के घेरे मे आ गया है।

घटना के करीब दो सप्ताह बाद भी ना तो अब तक अपराधियो की पहचान हो सकी है और ना ही घटना के कारणो तक पुलिस पहुँच सकी है। जिसको लेकर आक्रोश पनपने लगा है और पीड़ित परिवार वाले दहशत के साये मे जीने को विवश है।

हैरत तब हुई जब बृहस्पतिवार को पुलिस ने संभावित हमलावरों के सीसीटीवी फुटेज जारी करते हुए पहचान करने पर दस हजार के इनाम की घोषणा करते हुए इस मामले मे पूर्व मे दिए अपने बयान से यू- टर्न ले लिया ।

बताते चले कि घटना के तुरंत बाद पुलिस ने घटना मे शामिल हमलावरों के पहचान होने और घटना के पीछे जमीनी विवाद के एंगल होने का दावा किया था। मोतिहारी एसपी स्वर्ण प्रभात ने स्थानीय पुलिस अधिकारियों के बयान के आधार पर घटना को लेकर प्रारंभिक सूचना मीडिया को दी थी। मीडिया ने इसी बयान के प्रमुखता से प्रकाशित भी किया था ।

लेकिन अब यह प्रतीत हो रहा है कि स्थानीय अधिकारियो ने विशेष कर हरसिद्धि थानाध्यक्ष ने मोतिहारी एसपी को फिर से ‘मिस्लीड’ यानि गलत बयानी करने का प्रयास किया है। घटना के बाद कुछ लोगों को पूछ-ताछ को लेकर ‘डिटैन’ किया गया था, जिसको पर्सनल बॉन्ड पर छोड़ दिया गया।

उल्लेखनीय है कि कामता मिश्रा को उनके दुकान पर ही तीन हमलावरों द्वारा गोली मार हत्या का प्रयास किया गया था। वर्तमान मे कामता मिश्र पटना मे इलाज के लिए भर्ती है, वही जिले के सभी व्यवसायी संगठन इस मामले को लेकर संदेहास्पद चुप्पी मे है। श्री मिश्र के परिवार वालो को मोतिहारी एसपी स्वर्ण प्रभात पर भरोसा है।

बताया गया कि घटना मे अगर हमलावरों की पहचान स्पष्ट नहीं हो तो अज्ञात पर मुकदमे होने से पुलिस स्वतंत्र हो कर अनुसंधान करती है, लेकिन नामजद अभियुक्त को पकड़ना और उद्भेदन दोनों ही आसान होता है। कामता मिश्रा के साथ-साथ शिक्षक राजकुमार सिंह दोनों का मुकदमा अज्ञात पर हुआ था । दोनों मे अभियुक्तों की पहचान अभी बाकी है। शिक्षक राजकुमार सिंह को दो गोली और 15 चाकू चिरैया थाना क्षेत्र मे मारे गये थे।

"Motihari SP has deputed some officials in the prosecution monitoring cell, where they meet additional public prosecutors and public prosecutors, procure lists of witnesses and ensure them in court on date", PP said.

MOTIHARI: Ever since IPS Swarn Prabhat joined as superintendent of police (SP) in Bihar’s East Champaran district, no less than one offender has been punished daily.

Against at least 300 others, court and police actions are being initiated almost every day, thanks to effective prosecution and proactive policing in this bordering district, a court officer said.

District Public Prosecutor (PP) Digvijay Sinha on Sunday, while commending Motihari police’s action in intensifying court proceedings, said that at least one court punishment daily is seen in Motihari court, and action like properties attachment and issuing court warrants, summons etc is being done in huge numbers almost every days.

PP, while interacting with “Border News Mirror” said that due to focus on strong prosecution and active support of prosecution monitoring cell of Motihari police in ensuring witness in court and providing materials in police diary, it has became possible for ensuring maximum punishments to accused involved in the heinous crime.

“Motihari SP has constituted a prosecution cell that has led to strong prosecution in crimes like murder, POCSO, loot and rape etc”, said PP adding that they strongly pursues concrete evidences and help prosecution and court to reach on justifiable conclusion in the case.

Earlier, we kept sending arrest warrants, witness summons, 82 and 83 of CRPC to police but most often that were turned in deaf ears. Even investigating officers and doctors would rarely visit in court to depose their witness despite repeated notices. Being tired of inordinate delays in justice, victims would prefer to stoop before offenders, but now they are freely enjoying justice, PP recalled.

Additional public prosecutor (APP) Sadhu Sharan Singh posted in the court of 22 number ADJ, said that even judges are commending the SP’s initiatives in open court. Few days ago, additional dostrict and session judge (AdJ) 6 (POCSO) reprimanded a police officer, who alleged to have asked Rs 40,000 as graft against release of a seized vehicle even after a court order while praising SP's action.

Notably, Motihari SP has launched many operations to expedite investigations in pending cases, arrest offenders, announce rewards and undertake property attachment in mass levels. On two occasions, his over hundred bulldozers, 100 on each occasion barged at the houses of 100 absconders at 100 different locations and attached their properties or forced them to surrender.

SP has undertaken a number of initiatives for police reforms and launched crackdown against criminals and liquor ban violators. He announced rewards on the heads of over 250 criminals and forced them to surrender before laws.

MOTIHARI: Back to Back killing to protect so called family honour, has sparked outrage in this bordering district of Bihar’s East Champaran.

On the intervening night of Tuesday-Wednesday, a minor 'love bird' committed suicide in Kodha village under Chiraiya police station. Before hanging them self, lover Amit filled his girlfriend Rani's 'Maang' with blood making an incision on his thumb.

Both were from the same village, belonged to different castes and near adult. As family prestige was coming in the way of their marriage, they resolved to end their life hanging themselves with a branch of mango tree.

A day before this, in Siswa Kharar village of Kalyanpur police station, a minor girl was murdered by her father, brother and uncle. This girl had committed the crime of falling in love with a boy from the same village.

On 13 January last, a father named Vinod Prasad killed his own daughter in Kotwa village because she was allegedly having a relationship with her lover even after marriage. Police acted properly in all cases.

These incidents are heartbreaking and disturbing, highlighting the darker aspects of societal pressure and the desire to protect family prestige. The concept of "Honor killing" is rooted in traditional and cultural beliefs, where the perceived dishonor brought by a family member, often a woman, is punished by death.

In many cases, honor killings are connected to issues like caste, religion, and social hierarchy. The fact that Amit and Rani of Chiraiya belonged to different castes, despite being from the same village, was enough to spark opposition to their marriage. Similarly, the minor girl in Siswa Kharar village was murdered for falling in love with a boy from the same village.

Apart from this, the brutal murder of children by their own relatives for prestige, which is happening in this district, has become a hot topic of discussion in the district. As a result, considering it necessary to investigate the mental state and law behind these incidents, advocates of district Bar were talked to.

General Secretary of district bar association (DBA) Rajeev Dwivedi aks Pappu Dubey while talking to BNM said that, It's essential to address the underlying societal issues that lead to these heinous crimes. Education, awareness, and stricter laws can help prevent such incidents and protect individuals from violence and gender discrimination.

Kanhaiya Singh, former general secretary of DBA told that the lack of a specific law to deal with honour killing is a significant concern. Law-enforcement agencies are forced to charge suspects under separate provisions of the IPC, depending on the scale of the crime.

Former DBA General Secretary Narendar Dev is of the views on the issues that, the issue of honour killing is deeply rooted in India's feudal society, marked by caste wars, untouchability, and patriarchal mindsets. Politicians must take a firm stance against honour killing, prioritizing the protection of citizens' constitutional and democratic rights over vote-bank politics.

Advocate Manoj Singh said, a session’s court in Karnal of Hariyana awarded the death penalty to five men for killing a couple, who had married against the diktats of a khap panchayat. This judgment marks a significant step towards addressing honour killings. Motihari police administration should come forward to protect such couple.

Advocate Vivekanand Shrivastava, said that the existing laws are enough to tackle such crime. The Law Commission's recommended bill, the Prohibition of Interference with the Freedom of Matrimonial Alliance Bill, is still pending.

Over honour killings, the Supreme Court issued a notice to the centre and eight states, seeking explanations for the steps taken to prevent such incidents. The government has decided to constitute a Group of Ministers to consult with states and explore the possibility of enacting a special law to tackle honour killings.

On this growing concern experts are, however, divided on the need for a specific honour killing law. Some argue that existing laws are sufficient if implemented properly, while others believe that more stringent provisions are required to address the menace of honour killings.
