MOTIHARI:  In a stark reminder of media accountability, East Champaran District Magistrate Saurabh Jorwal has decisively countered a baseless Zee News digital report accusing him of enabling the sale of land tied to the defunct Chakia Sugar Factory.

 The unverified story, swiftly retracted after administrative pushback, underscores the perils of sensationalism masquerading as journalism.

District officials dismissed the Zee News piece—published on the platform founded by media mogul Subhash Chandra—as "fabricated and malicious.

" It is utter misuse of freedom of speech
as without quoting DM or verifying facts, the story was carried.

 "This was a deliberate attempt to tarnish the DM's reputation and manipulate public perception," an anonymous official told.

DM Jorwal's prompt clarification via the official Information and Public Relations Department (IPRD) whatupp group dismantled the claims.

 "No official can order land sales or purchases. The administration only facilitates regulatory compliance and court directives," he stated.

 Officials confirmed the Chakia factory land registry adhered strictly to judicial orders, with no administrative overreach.

Zee News deleted the report following the rebuttal, but the reporter allegedly peddled similar versions elsewhere. Allegely to declare false narative true to appease his false ego, the official said.

This isn't isolated. The reporter previously targeted a bilingual newspaper journalist based in Motihari.

 The journalists, in his one of the report had questioned Mahatma Gandhi Central University's Vice-Chancellor appointment. 

The same reporter in the zee news digital portal falsely claimed that a defamation notice would be issued against  the said journalists for questioning VC' appointment revealing his illegal proximities with VC.

 University sources however, denied any such action, exposing another unverifiable narrative by the same reporter on the same platform.

The District Public Relations Officer (DPRO) Gyaneshwar Prakash  indicated potential legal steps against the zee news reporter and platform for disseminating "biased, unverified information."

 "We're evaluating action under Press Council of India guidelines," the DPRO said.

 DM Jorwal's firm stance exemplifies administrative transparency amid Bihar's complex land disputes, particularly around shuttered sugar mills like Chakia and Motihari. 

As digital media proliferates, this episode reignites debates on ethical reporting versus clickbait. 

Jorwal's response not only vindicates his office but spotlights the need for fact-checked journalism. 

In an era of yellow journalism, upright officers like him safeguard public trust.

मोतिहारी। भारत-नेपाल सीमा क्षेत्र स्थित रक्सौल बॉर्डर पर सुरक्षा एजेंसियों ने संदिग्ध गतिविधियों पर अपनी सतर्कता और बढ़ा दी है। 

शुक्रवार दोपहर सीमा चौकसी के दौरान इंडो-नेपाल मैत्री पुल पर तैनात सीमा सुरक्षा बल (एसएसबी) की 47वीं बटालियन ने नेपाल से भारत में प्रवेश करने की कोशिश कर रहे एक श्रीलंकाई नागरिक को पकड़ा।

 यह गिरफ्तारी नियमित जांच अभियान के दौरान हुई।

गिरफ्तार व्यक्ति की पहचान श्रीलंका निवासी हनीफ कांची के रूप में की गई है। तलाशी में उसकी पासपोर्ट, वीजा या भारत में प्रवेश से संबंधित कोई वैध दस्तावेज नहीं मिला। 

एसएसबी जवानों ने उसके पास से नेपाली करेंसी, श्रीलंकाई पहचान पत्र, मोबाइल, कैमरा और कुछ निजी वस्तुएं बरामद कीं। प्रारंभिक पूछताछ के बाद उसे आगे की कानूनी कार्रवाई के लिए हरैया थाना पुलिस के हवाले कर दिया गया है।

अवैध आवागमन का गढ़ बनता बॉर्डरभारत-नेपाल की लगभग 1,751 किलोमीटर लंबी खुली सीमा में रक्सौल-वीरगंज मार्ग सबसे संवेदनशील बिंदु माना जाता है।

 यह क्षेत्र बिहार के पूर्वी चंपारण जिले में पड़ता है और नेपाल के तराई इलाके तक सीधा संपर्क रखता है। 

सीमावर्ती क्षेत्र होने के कारण यहां मानव तस्करी, विदेशी नागरिकों का अवैध घुसपैठ, नशीले पदार्थों और हथियारों की तस्करी जैसी चुनौतियाँ लंबे समय से बनी हुई हैं। 

अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमाओं के इस खुले स्वरूप का फायदा उठाकर कई संदिग्ध गिरोह सक्रिय हैं, जिन पर सुरक्षा एजेंसियां लगातार नजर रखती हैं।

राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा एजेंसियां सक्रिय

हनीफ कांची की गिरफ्तारी के बाद एसएसबी, इंटेलिजेंस ब्यूरो (IB), और एनआईए (NIA) जैसी सुरक्षा एजेंसियों ने जांच का दायरा बढ़ा दिया है। 

प्रारंभिक स्तर पर यह पता लगाया जा रहा है कि क्या इस विदेशी नागरिक का किसी अंतरराष्ट्रीय नेटवर्क या तस्करी गिरोह से संबंध है। एजेंसियों को इस बात की भी जांच करनी है कि क्या वह भारत में ठहरने या किसी मिशन के संबंध में आया था।

स्थानीय पुलिस के साथ संयुक्त पूछताछ जारी है, जबकि सीमा पर निगरानी तंत्र को मजबूत करने के निर्देश दिए गए हैं।

 सुरक्षा विशेषज्ञों के अनुसार, हाल के दिनों में अंतरराष्ट्रीय सीमाओं से हो रही संदेहास्पद आवाजाही ने यह जरूरी बना दिया है कि हर गतिविधि पर डिजिटल सर्विलांस और इंटेलिजेंस समन्वय को और मजबूत किया जाए।

Raxaul- the gateway of Nepal has emerged as a transit point for international drugs racketeers despite the fact that the Motihari police, under the leadership of Superintendent of police (SP) Swarn Prabhat, have been actively working to curb drug smuggling in this district.

On Sunday, they arrested eight smugglers with nearly one quintal of ganja, highlighting the ongoing efforts to tackle this issue. The police have been successful in identifying and arresting several drug smuggling syndicates members, seizing large quantities of contraband from their possession in the last few months.

The collaboration with the SSB (Sashastra Seema Bal) deployed on the border has also been effective in these efforts. However, the high demand for drugs in the Indian market continues to attract international drug kingpins, posing a challenge for security agencies.

To address this, SP Swaran Prabhat has alerted all police stations in border areas to remain vigilant and proactive in tackling drug smuggling. The efforts to disrupt and dismantle drug smuggling networks are ongoing.

The Raxaul border on the Bihar-Nepal border has become a significant hotspot for drug smuggling. Law enforcement agencies, including the Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) and district police, have been actively working to curb this issue.

 In 2024, a Nepali citizen was caught with charas worth ₹30 million at Raxaul, highlighting the scale of smuggling operations.

 In just the last three weeks, the East Champaran district police recovered 16 kg Ganja, 25.629 kg Charas, 200 gm Smack, 216 gm Brown Sugar and In 2016, the police and SSB arrested 267 people for smuggling drugs and narcotics along the Nepal border.

After SP Swarn Prabhat took over as SP in Motihari the numbers of arresting and recoveries of contrabands significantly increased in many folds, but challenges still persist with ever changing modus operandi of drug paddlers from porous indo Nepal border.   

Reportedly, Smugglers are using women and children as couriers, making law enforcement more challenging. The illicit trade flourishes unnoticed in slum areas and drug traders target the vulnerable locations of this bordering area.

Strengthening intelligence in border villages to anticipate and prevent smuggling.  Parents and community members must be vigilant and report suspicious activities.

एसपी स्वर्ण प्रभात ने घटना मे त्वरित कार्रवाई को लेकर अरेराज अनुमंडल पुलिस पदाधिकारी के नेतृत्व मे एक एसआईटी का गठन किया है | पुलिस ने बताया कि घटना के उद्भेदन को लेकर पुलिस ने जांच शुरू कर दी है | प्रथम दृष्यन्त घटना जमीनी विवाद को लेकर कारित बताई जा रही है | एसडीपीओ रंजन कुमार और थाना प्रभारी घटना स्थल पर घंटों मौजूद रहे |  

पहाड़पुर थाना क्षेत्र के लौकाहा, पकड़िया के रहने वाले कुबेर पांडे बड़े ही नम्र और दयालु स्वभाव के व्यक्ति थे | घटना के बाद लोग कई तरह के सवाल कर रहे है |

जानकारों ने बताया कि इसी रडिया गाँव के रहने वाले विवेक सिंह की हत्या रघुनाथपूर क्षेत्र मे कर दी गई थी | इस मामले मे हत्यारा सहित तीन लोग गिरफ्तार हो चुके है जबकि घटना मे शामिल षड्यंत्रकारियों की भी पहचान हो चुकी है, लेकिन अभी भी सभी षड्यंत्रकारी पुलिस की पकड़ से बाहर है | पुलिस साक्ष्य जुटाने की बात कह कर इन षड्यंत्रकारियों पर से पर्दा उठाने से परहेज करती दिख रही है |

MOTIHARI: An IPS officer is making waves in Bihar police for his audacious decisions and making significant strides in tackling various challenges plaguing the district.

This 2017- batch police officer Swarn Prabhat is hitting the headlines with a number of people-friendly and anti- criminal’s initiatives he had taken soon after joining as superintendent of police (SP) of Bihar’s East Champaran district.

East Champaran is clinching with the porous border of Nepal and has been facing a number of security related challenges. Apart from crimes on border like smuggling and anti-India activities, SP has strongly tackled the open sale of liquor, corruption among cops on police station level, incidents of “Harsh Firing”, attacks on police on duty and major criminal’s incidents on every alternate days.

Thousands of liters of liquor are seized daily, significantly reducing open sales.  Drone surveillance and ground-to-sky monitoring led to the arrest of gang members and a decline in criminal activities.

SP has also tackled unscrupulous cops with stern hands. In corruption crackdown: Malahi SHO, Dumariaghat SHO, and others were suspended for dereliction of duty.

Police Accountability: Transparency in posting criteria, with officer’s track records was made public by SP.

Harsh Firing Prevention: Security provided for marriage ceremonies, with officials encouraged to take selfies with attendees. The initiatives stopped ‘harsh firing’ completely and liquor use in the marriage ceremonies as well.

Officers authorized to use arms in self-defense, as seen in Raghunathpur and Dumariaghat incidents. This came after a police man was attacked by villagers in a village of Pahadpur.

Police are so morally high that they shot a criminal named Samir Singh, when he challenged police at the time of his arrest. He was a vicious sharp shooter and absconding in a case of murder of a bank employee.

SP while releasing a video said that Police stations are equipped with chilly grenades to disperse the mob at the time of implementing rule of laws. All the SHOs have been asked to provide FIR copy immediately to the complainant and share a selfie image from spot. he said.

Nepal and India's relationship is complex, with both nations sharing historical and cultural ties, but also experiencing tensions and frustrations. India has been supportive of Nepal during times of crisis, such as the 2015 earthquake, providing rescue efforts and rehabilitation aid. India's financial contributions to Nepal's development have also been significant, with a 29.41% increase in annual grants in 2022-23 and an allocation of Rs 8.8 billion in the 2023-24 budgets.

Thousands of Gorkha soldiers are still serving in the Indian army and the money they earned would be invested in fostering their family back in the Himalyan Nation. Families of either country can freely work in either nation and the 1800 km long porous border helps them to do so. Nepal’s citizens prefer Bollywood movies and songs. Thus, Indian cultures have largely influenced Himalyan people. Both the nations share their cultural and social ties since its inception. 

But question remains: who instigates Nepal against India- the country, which would foster Nepal- a landlocked nation, the country, which good gesture for its Himalayan neighbor has always been appreciated across the world. Have Nepal’s diplomats, media or China been winding up anti-india sentiments in Nepal or other factors are behind all this.

However, several issues have caused strains between the two nations 

- Border Disputes

The India-Nepal border dispute is a complex issue that's been simmering for decades. The main point of contention is the 1,850-kilometer open border, which has seen territorial disputes and encroachments by Nepali security forces into Indian lands, resulting in killings and extortion of Indian citizens.

- Kalapani: A 35 square kilometer area at the trijunction of India, Nepal, and China, where India claims the Kali River originates in the Pankhagad rivulet, while Nepal asserts the Lipu Gad river is the Kali River.

- Susta: India claims around 100 square km area of Susta in West Champaran district of Bihar has been encroached by Nepal.

- Limpiyadhura, Lipulekh, Mechi, and Tanakpur : Both countries claim encroachment by the other.

 

Nepal's recent actions, such as including disputed territories in its new currency notes, have escalated tensions. India has called on Nepal to honor sovereignty, engage in dialogue, and abstain from making baseless claims.

The dispute's roots lie in historical uncertainty and contrasting views on border delineations. Nepal cites historical treaties and cartographic evidence, while India retains control, citing historical precedence and strategic necessity.

To resolve this, India and Nepal must prioritize communication and mutual respect. India should utilize its historical ties with Nepal to persuade the new leadership that China's intentions are exploitative. A proactive dialogue and diplomatic solutions are crucial to address territorial disputes and geopolitical tensions.

Dispute over Buddha Birth Place

 The dispute over Buddha's birthplace has been a longstanding issue between India and Nepal, with strong emotions running high, especially in Nepal, which has a significant Buddhist population. In 2013, Indian media sparked protests in Nepal by suggesting Buddha was born in India. This led to Nepalese youth taking to social media and the streets to express their discontent.

India's External Affairs Minister, S. Jaishankar, further fueled the controversy in 2020 by describing Buddha as one of the greatest Indians ever. Nepal's foreign ministry quickly responded, pointing out that historical and archaeological evidence confirms Buddha's birthplace as Lumbini, Nepal. India's External Affairs Ministry spokesperson later clarified that Jaishankar's remarks referred to the shared Buddhist heritage between India and Nepal .

Despite these tensions, most scholars agree that Buddha was indeed born in Lumbini, Nepal around 623 BC. Lumbini is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage site and is considered the birthplace of Buddha and the foundation of Buddhism.

Interestingly, India has been using Buddhism as a soft power tool in its diplomacy, highlighting its historical ties to other nations. India's Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, visited Lumbini in 2022, accompanied by Nepal's Prime Minister, Sher Bahadur Deuba, to lay the foundation stone for the India International Center for Buddhist Culture and Heritage.

India and Nepal disagree over Buddha's birthplace, with India suggesting it's in India and Nepal asserting it's in Lumbini, Nepal.

- Historical Evidence: Nepal's foreign ministry cites historical and archaeological evidence to support Lumbini as Buddha's birthplace.

- Shared Buddhist Heritage: India's External Affairs Ministry emphasizes the shared Buddhist heritage between India and Nepal.

Similar situation was raised in 2021, when Nepal’s PM KP Sharma Oli claimed that Sri Ram-the Hindu Deity born in ‘Ayodhyapuri’ located in Birgunj city in Nepal- thousands of km away from Ayodhya of India where Sri Ram was actually born and brought up.

 "Big Brother" Behavior: Nepalis object to India's perceived "micromanagement" and framing of Nepal as India's "young brother." Nepal, as the oldest sovereign country in South Asia, values its independence and sovereignty.

- Unequal Diplomatic Agreements: Nepal's public perceives agreements like the Gandaki, Koshi, and Mahakali water treaties, and the 1950 Peace and Friendship Treaty, as benefiting India more. Many Nepali politicians advocate revising these treaties to ensure equality.

Trade Blockades have been a major point of contention, with India imposing blockades in 1975, 1989, and 2015. The 2015 blockade, which occurred after the earthquake, led Nepal to sign a trade and transit agreement with China. This blockade also caused severe fuel and medicine shortages, isolating Nepal from the rest of the world.

“Nepal's Constitution and Madhesi Ethnic Minorities” is another issue. Nepal's new constitution marginalized Madhesi ethnic minorities, who are culturally close to India. This led to violent protests and demands for India to intervene in 2015. India's response was to launch a massive blockade, which further exacerbated tensions.

 “Geographical Disadvantages” also play a role in Nepal's tensions with India. As a landlocked nation, Nepal relies heavily on India for imports, including petroleum. India's control over Nepal's borders and trade routes has led to feelings of frustration and dependence.

 “China's Influence” is also a factor, with Nepal seeking to balance its relationships between India and China. Nepal remained in bargaining mode, has signed trade agreements with China and receives financial aid from both nations.

 It's clear that this sensitive issue requires careful diplomacy to resolve. By acknowledging the shared cultural significance of Buddhism, India and Nepal can work towards strengthening their ties and promoting regional peace.

Despite these tensions, recent developments suggest a thawing in relations. Nepal's Foreign Minister Dr. Arzu Rana Deuba's visit to India in August 2024 marked a new achievement in energy trade, with Nepal importing an additional 251 MW of electricity from India. This cooperation aligns with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of regional development through economic collaboration.

In summary, while India has been supportive of Nepal in times of crisis, several issues have contributed to tensions and frustrations between the two nations.

 It's essential for both nations to address these underlying issues to strengthen their relationship, focusing on mutual benefit and respect for sovereignty.

MOTIHARI: Tensions are running high at the India-Nepal border in Bihar's East Champaran district after two constables of the 20 th battalions of Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) were attacked by liquor smugglers on October 2.

The constables, Arun Kumar Singh and Santosh Pandurang were beaten up mercilessly, when both dared to intercept smugglers while entering Indian Territory with a large quantity of Nepali wine bottles.

Liquor sales and consumption are banned in Bihar, which has led to a rise in smuggling from Nepal. The situation took a dire turn when a large group of Nepali people joined the smugglers, thrashing the constables and attempting to drag one of them to the Nepal side.

Local villagers claims they rescued the constables, but also allege that Nepal's armed Police Force (APF) supported the smugglers. India authorities however did not confirm any involvement of APF personnel’s in the incident.

Few months ago, APF opened fire near Kharsalawa under Jharokhar police station in East Champaran district after locals raised the voice of thrashing two Indians on no-man's land by APF men.

Nepal’s armed police force had thrashed a woman, identified as Seema Devi and her husband Ravindra Prasad, residents of Kharsalwa village under Jharokhar in Ghodasahan block of East Champaran. Both had gone Nepali territory to collect fodder.

The locals, in a huff, caught hold of an APF jawan who had come to the Indian side to buy some essential commodities raising concern to the authorities of both the nations.

This incident isn't isolated; there have been previous clashes between Indian and Nepali forces. In 2020, one Indian was killed, and four others were injured in a firing incident at the Lalbandi-Janki Nagar border in Sitamarhi district. More recently, an SSB jawan was crushed to death by liquor mafia in Madhubani district .

The regular meetings of the border coordination committee between Indian and Nepali officials seem to have done little to ease tensions. The APF's alleged involvement in shielding smugglers has raised concerns about the effectiveness of these meetings.

Indian authorities on the instruction of superintendent of police (SP) Swarn Prabaht of East Champaran have filed an FIR against over a dozen smugglers, including liquor mafia Omprakash and Amarjeet. However, the question remains: how will these non-nationals be apprehended without cooperation from Nepali authorities?

सागर सूरज, मोतिहारी। अंडरवर्ल्ड की विसात पर राजनीति में अपनी जगह बनाने वाले गोविंदगंज के पूर्व विधायक सह बाहुबली राजन तिवारी को यूपी पुलिस ने 2005 के एक मामले में गिरफ्तार कर यूपी ले गयी है।

यूपी पुलिस के 20 हजार रूपये के इनामी और बिहार के 90 के दशक का दहशत राजन तिवारी की गिरफ़्तारी के बाद जिले में सनसनी है।

यूपी पुलिस की माने तो बिहार के गोविंदगंज से उनके भाई राजू तिवारी को दो-दो बार विधायक बनाने एवं माताजी को प्रखंड प्रमुख का पद सुनिश्चित करवाने बाद तिवारी ने बिहार में तो अपनी सक्रियता कम कर दी थी, लेकिन यूपी में जारी रखी।

नतीजतन उत्तर प्रदेश के डीजीपी ने 61 माफियाओं को सूचीबद्ध करते हुए तिवारी का नाम भी उसमे डाला था। जोन कार्यालय ने राजन की पृष्ठिभूमि में झांका तो पाया की राजन 17 वर्षों से एक गैर जमानती मामले में फरार है।

फिर क्या था यूपी की टास्क फोर्स ने राजन को नेपाल सीमा से धर दबोचा। एसएसपी डॉ गौरव ग्रोवर के आदेश का अनुपालन को लेकर सीओ गोरखपुर कैंट नेत्रित्व में एक टीम बनायी गयी और उन्हें गिरफ्तार कर लिया गया।

इधर, राजन तिवारी की गिरफ्तारी के बाद उनसे जुड़े कई खौफनाक पन्नों के परत दर परत खुलने लगे है, लेकिन उनके समर्थक सोशल मीडिया पर उनको निर्दोष बताते हुए गिरफ्तारी के पीछे राजनीतिक साजिश बता रहे हैं।  

राजन तिवारी बाहुबली विधायक देवेंद्र दुबे की हत्या के बाद वर्ष 2000 में निर्दलीय विधायक गोविंदगंज विधानसभा से चुने गए। फिर क्या था उनका सिक्का अंडरवर्ल्ड में जमता चला गया।

राजन तिवारी से जुडे सबसे खौफनाक कहानियों में से एक बेतिया के री रोलिंग मिल के मालिक रमेश तोदी अपहरण कांड से था, जिसका अपहरण मोतिहारी से तब हो गया।

जब वह मोतिहारी के राजा बाजार स्थित राकेश लोहिया के यहां एक कार्यक्रम में भाग लेने आये थे। इस मामले में रमेश तोदी के मेनेजर की लाश बरामद की गयी थी और आरोप था कि तकरीबन 5 करोड़ की राशी लेकर तोदी को मुक्त किया गया था।

बाद में राकेश लोहिया परिवार भी दहशत में राजा बाजार छोड़ कर राजस्थान चला गया। इस मामले में राजन तिवारी का नाम आया था। 13 जून 1998 को बिहार के तत्कालीन लालू कैबिनेट के उर्जा मंत्री सह आदापुर विधान सभा से चार बार के विधायक रहे बृज बिहारी प्रसाद की पटना एम्स में हुए हत्या में यूपी का कुख्यात श्री प्रकाश शुक्ला एवं मुजफ्फरपुर के छोटन शुक्ला के साथ राजन तिवारी का नाम भी आया।

जिसमें लोअर कोर्ट ने राजन तिवारी को सजा सुनाई। लेकिन, उच्च न्यायालय ने साक्ष्य के अभाव में राजन तिवारी को बरी कर दिया। पूर्णिया विधायक और कम्युनिस्ट नेता अजित सरकार को 14 जून 1998 को उन्हें सड़कों पर 107 गोलियां मारी गयी।

इस मामले में सूरज भान सिंह, पप्पू यादव एवं अन्य के साथ राजन तिवारी भी अभियुक्त बनाए गए थे। तत्कालीन कानून व्यवस्था से भयभीत अजित सरकार के बेटे अमित सरकार भारत छोड़ ऑस्ट्रिया रहने लगे।

राजन तिवारी बाहुबली सह गोविंदगंज के पूर्व विधायक देवेंद्र दुबे की हत्या का आरोप बृज बिहारी प्रसाद पर था। बृज बिहारी प्रसाद की हत्या देवेंद्र दुबे हत्या के प्रतिशोध का परिणाम था।

गोरखपुर में शाम करीब 5.30 बजे राजन को पुलिस ने गोरखपुर दीवानी कचहरी में गैंगस्टर कोर्ट में पेश किया। राजन की ओर से मेडिकल लगाकर जमानत की अर्जी लगाई गई थी, लेकिन मेडिकल से संबंधित कागजात पूरे नहीं होने से कोर्ट ने जमानत खारिज कर 14 दिन की न्यायिक हिरासत में जेल भेज दिया।

इस मामले की अगली सुनवाई अब सोमवार यानी 22 अगस्त को होगी। इसके खिलाफ बिहार और यूपी में कई आपराधिक मामले दर्ज हैं। अकेले गोरखपुर में उस पर 36 से ज्यादा मुकदमे दर्ज हैं।

वह कैंट थाने में दर्ज गैंगेस्टर के मुकदमे में वांछित था और करीब 60 गैर जमानती वारंट  कोर्ट से जारी था। राजन तिवारी मूल रूप से गोरखपुर के गगहा थाना क्षेत्र के सोहगौरा गांव का रहने वाला है।

राजन तिवारी पर यूपी और बिहार में 40 से ज्यादा मुकदमे दर्ज हैं। बिहार में पूर्वी चंपारण के गोविंदगंज सीट से दो बार विधायकी जीतने वाले राजन तिवारी ने 2019 के लोकसभा चुनाव से ठीक पहले लखनऊ में भाजपा की सदस्यता ली थी।

हालांकि, इस पर विवाद होने के बाद पार्टी ने राजन को साइड लाइन कर दिया था। राजन तिवारी ने खुद को भाजपा नेता ही बताया। इससे पहले उन्होंने 2016 में बीएसपी जॉइन की थी।

वह पूर्वी चंपारण के गोविंदगंज से लोजपा से विधायक रह चुका है। इसके अलावा राजन तिवारी 2004 में लोकसभा पहुंचने के लिए भी भाग्य आजमा चुका है।

हमले में भी राजन तिवारी का नाम आया था। इस घटना में माफिया डॉन श्रीप्रकाश शुक्ला और राजन तिवारी समेत चार लोगों को आरोपी बनाया गया था।
