BNM IMPACTS: Bagaha Police declares Mukhiya Mantu Singh – a proclaimed offender

BETTIAH : Mantu Singh, also known as Vineet Kumar Singh, has been declared a proclaimed offender by Bagaha Police in connection with the murder of former village head Vibhaw Kumar Ray on August 7, 2024.
This development comes after Border News Mirror, a bilingual daily newspaper, questioned the police's sluggishness in taking action against Mantu Singh through a news article.
Following the publication of the story, the police took swift action, obtaining a proclamation notice from the court and pasting it on Mantu Singh's house in Khairwa Panchayat, instructing him to surrender.
"Police is continuously conducting raids to arrest Mantu and soon he will be sent behind bars. Proclamation notice has been pasted on house and police is mounting pressures on family members of accused persons to surrender", SP Sushant Saroj
Keshav Kumar- an advocate practicing in Bettiah civil court, while informing the development, said that the court of Abhishek Kumar Singh issued notice and order of the court was complied by local police immediately pasting it on the house of Mantu Singh with instructions to surrender before court.
The family members of the victim have been assured by police officers that Mantu Singh will be arrested. Superintendent of Police Sushant Saroj said that the police is continuously conducting raids to arrest Mantu and soon he will be sent behind bars.
