Arms supplier arrested; pistol used in murder recovered
The police investigation into Vivek Thakur's murder is unfolding, with a focus on white-collar and real estate mafia connections. On Saturday, Chandan Singhania, an arms supplier, was arrested and interrogated, revealing names of other criminals involved in the crime. The police are collecting evidence to bring these individuals to justice.Chandan Singhania has a history of criminal cases, including the Pawan Gupta murder case, for which he was jailed. The current investigation has also led to the recovery of the pistol used in Vivek's murder.The police are working to uncover the conspiracy behind Vivek's killing, which allegedly involves real estate mafias and white-collar individuals. The killer, Jhunna Singh, was forced to surrender and is currently in jail. During his interrogation, he revealed names of other individuals involved in the conspiracy, although these names have not been disclosed yet.The investigation is being closely monitored by Motihari SP Swarn Prabhat, who has assured that no one involved in the crime will be spared, regardless of their stature or connections.

MOTIHARI: While the police are tightening their noose on all the criminals involved in the killing of realtor Vivek Thakur on 19 December at a location of Laxmipur under Raghunathpur Ps in Motihari, panic gripped among the potential conspirators in this case.
On Saturday, SIT formed in this case arrested the arms supplier Chandan Singhania son of Baidhnath Singh, Damobriti of Harsiddhi and also recovered the pistol, which was used in the murder of Vivek.
Superintendent of Police (SP) of east champaran Swarn Prabhat said, “Chandan Singhania was grilled and he also revealed names of some other criminals involved in this crime. Evidences are being collected to let axes of laws fall on them”, he said.
Chandan, including Matiyaria Pacs chief Pawan Gupta murder case, is carrying a number of criminal cases over his head. Chandan had gone to jail in the Pawan Gupta murder case. Notably, Gupta was killed in which local village representative Surendra Singh was made name accused. At the time of murder of Gupta, enraged locals attacked police, which prompted police to open fire.
Piqued over broad daylight murder, residents in huge numbers gathered at Nursing Baba Math and chalked out a series of agitations to support Vivek cause, but sensing the police's sincerity in this case, they postponed everything for the time being and adopted a wait and watch policy.
After Vivek was executed, Motihari police took the case in priority and Motihari SP himself started monitoring everything. The killer Jhunna Singh aks Mohit Singh was forced to surrender before court and court sent him to jail but police grilled Jhunna in jail for up to three hours and revealed names of many real estate mafias and white collars, who allegedly hatched conspiracy to eliminate Vivek. Names of these people are still undercover.
A police officer requesting anonymity said that, “Political pressures are mounting, but Motihari SP is not going to spare anyone who played roles in this high profile murder. Regardless of the stature of criminals and their protectors, all will be booked and brought to justice, he said.
