An alleged case of a “Sex Scandal” resurfaced in Mahatma Gandhi Central University (MGCU) at Motihari on Friday, with an assistant professor of Hindi department was removed from the class of second semester of post graduate(PG) after he alleged have asked ‘Sexual Favour’ from a female scholar in lieu of admission in PhD department.
After taking this unprecedented action, the head of the department of Hindi suggested the Vice-Chancellor to take appropriate actions against the erring ‘professor’, but five months lapsed-no action taken yet by varsity management raising question on MGCU managment.

This came after a female scholar filed an application before university management alleging ‘Sexual Favour’ being asked by an assistant professor in Hindi department, in lieu of PhD persuasion under his guidance.
Following the allegations, an immediate meeting of the department's members was called up and the said professor was removed from the classes, sources said requesting annoynimity.
“Border News Mirror” accessed a letter on Friday, which was endorsed to the head of department of Hindi on 25 October, 2024 alleging an assistant professor sought sexual favour indirectly, when she wished for PhD research.

The letter reads, that after the end of the first semester, she was sitting in class along with her classmate Sanjit preparing the presentation of language science of Dr Gobind Verma sir, the assistant professor in question tried to woo her in lieu of PhD admission under his guidance.

He asked my colleague Sanjit to bring a cup of tea and finding me all alone, he indirectly asked me for sexual favour after citing the benefits of PhD, letter reads
This is not alone such grave allegations leveled against professors in MGCU. An audio of an another student of the same department went viral on social platforms a few months ago, in which a girl student was found threatening a professor to divulge all ‘Sex Scandals being run in varsity campus. She named many professors and management staff having intimate relations with female students.
When BNM asked vice chancellor of MGCU Sanjay Kumar Shrivastava to comment on viral audio, his OSD said that this is old audio-we have nothing to do with it.

MGCU management, however immediately called a meeting and constituted a cell under the leadership of some lady professors and asked girls’ scholars and students to depose any complain related to sexual harassment if any within varsity premises.

Surprisingly enough, most of the alleged teachers and staff, who were named in the viral audio are still continuing in the campus and neither they are removed from the campus nor the allegations were ever verified.
When the recent letter with the same allegations, accessed by BNM, a message sent to the whatsapp number of VC and public relation officer (PRO) of MGCU Shefalika was left un-responded. “No any comment’ from varsity management yet received.

As sex scandals resurfaced in MGCU, it started haunting university management. They are again trying to hush- up like earlier cases, skipping media questions with impudence.
