MOTIHARI: With the arrest of four Popular front of India(PFI) caders including Tanvir Raza @Barkati and  Md Abid @ Aryan from Chakia and Mehasi localities in east champaran district in Bihar on Saturday,NIA claimed to have busted a PFI module planning targeted killing and disrupting communal harmony.

While releasing a press communiques, east champaran district Superintendent of Police (SP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra told that Natinal Investigating Agency (NIA) conducted multiple serches and arrests. The central agency with the active co-operation of police undertaken raids at eight locations including in east champaran district in Bihar . NIA has successfully disrupted a conspiracy hatched by PFI caders to carryout targetted killing in East Champaran in Bihar.

Two accused arrested by NIA has arranged weapons and ammunitions to execute a target assigned to them by their operatives. “ Recce had already been conducted much  before the target to be executed” said SP. The arms and ammunitions to carryout out killing had already  been handed over by a PFI trainer Yakoob- the man carrying out training sessions for PFI caders.

Fews days ago, Yakoob-the trainers had posted a derogatory and inflamatory Face book video post aiming to disrupt peace, trabnquilities and communal harmony. The post was hilariously trolled and reacted with abusively. The two arrested accused absconding accused Yakoob had identified some of them and had conspired to execute the killing of the targetted person.

The raids came in a case filed in  Phulwarisharif at Patna last year. The raids and arrests were made in NIA case no. RC-31/2022/NIA/DLI, which pertains to involvement of  PFI and its leaders and cadres in violent and unlawful activities, who had assembled for that purpose in the Phulwarisharif area of Patna. 

The case was initially registered as FIR No 827/2022 dated 12.07.2022 at PS Phulwarisharif, District- Patna, Bihar and re-registered by NIA on 22.07.2022.

 

Those arrested include: Tanveer Raza @ Barkati s/o Md Abdulllah R/o Bahadurpur, Mehsi, East Champaran, Bihar and Md Abid @ Aryan  s/o Md Rustam, R/o vill BahadurPur, PS Mehsi, District East Champaran, Bihar.  

 

Earlier, 04 persons were arrested and several incriminating articles/documents related to PFI were seized in the instant case.

 

  During the searches conducted yesterday, multiple digital devices were seized. Further investigations in the case are in progress.

In a raid conducted by the national investigation agency on Saturday, three suspects stated to be residents of Kuawan village under  Chakia police station area in east champaran district in Bihar were picked up. The arrested suspects are said to be associated with outlawed terror outfit Popular Front of India (PFI) .

East Champaran superintendent of police (SP) Kantesh Mishra confirmed the NIA raid in the district. “Suspects were arrested for joint interrogation by Bihar police and NIA in an undisclosed location”. Motihari police have extended active help to the raiding team.

Sources said that RiyaJ Maroof - one of the suspects was closely associated with the terror module of Phulwarisharif (Patna), which was unearthed last year. It is yet to be verified the names of the arrested suspects stated to have terror connections.

The NIA team also conducted a raid at Riyaz's house in Kunwawa village. “Riyaz's ancestral house was also searched by the NIA. Several incriminating documents were recovered from his house during the search operation,” said a police officer posted at Chakia police station.
