MPTIHARI: An alleged case of faulty and erroneous investigation of Motihari police has surfaced in an alleged case of murder in which a BJP sitting MLA Shyambabu Prasad among two others has been made named accused recently.

The contradictory conclusions in police investigations and injury reports of Motihari Sadar Hospital sparked off controversies raising needles of suspicion on impartial police investigation underway in the case.

A contractor cum former village representative and resident of Pipra Mahuawa Jitendra Prasad found dead and his body was recovered from a pond a few weeks ago. Incident generated heat after family members of deceased filed FIR of murder in Pipra police station accusing local BJP MLA and two others.

Soon after body of Jitender Prasad recovered, a video in which deceased is seen alleging that local MLA is hatching conspiracy to get him eliminate goes viral on social media that prompted police intensify the investigation.

Later on Motihari superintendent of police (SP) Kantesh Kumar Mishra claimed that district police cracked the case after going through scientific investigation and they come to the conclusion that the contractor had committed suicide with local pistols. The pistol and used cartridges had been recovered from the bank of ponds.

Suicide theories of police relied on a Google search, they found in deceased mobile phone in which Jitender had asked Google “How to commit suicide” much before his body was found in a pond nearby his own village.

After police unfolded this theory of suicide in a press conference, BJP MLA and two others got virtually clean-chit from this case but postmortem reports prepaired by Dr Ashok and Dr Anup came up with fresh story. Autopsy reports says the cause of death is sharp cut injuries and profuse bleeding instead of gun shot that police claims.

SP Kantesh Mishra told media persons that FSL reports of weapon found at incident site will be sought and doctors prepared the autopsy reports will be discussed.
