MOTIHARI: An intensive crack down against those who are violating blanket liquor ban in Bihar, has been launched in Bihar's East Champaran district- clinching porous indo- nepal border on thursday.

On thursday, to make the liquor ban law successful, Motihari SP  held a video conferencing meeting with all the DSPs, circle inspectors and SHOs.

SP's strict instructions to all cops included that officers should conduct raids every day at locations, where liquor is found to be traded or being prepared and recover liquor, arrest traders and /mafias involved in this trade.

The SHOs should take strict action in such places, where liquor sale is being done.  SP said if he comes to know directly about the cases of liquor sale, and SHOs delays in taking action or does not take action at all, then in such a situation, the SP will directly take action against the concerned SHO.

All small and big vehicles coming from outside the district should be thoroughly checked up, liquor smugglers should not get any chance to smuggle contraband.

Any officer who is found to be negligent in his work would be punished so, they needs to be more careful as he is closely watching his work, SP said.

There is a need to completely rein in liquor mafias/smugglers in every corner of the district, patrol vehicles should patrol all sensitive places from time to time, SP said adding give quick response to calls from people of the area. If the SHO is busy somewhere, then the additional SHOs should pick up the phone and look into the problems.

All DSPs in the district should properly identify the places where liquor is being made in the sub-division and instruct the SHOs to conduct intensive raids under their leadership and destroy the liquor along with the liquor distilleries and arrest the smugglers who sell the liquor.
If any person is found extorting money from any vehicle on the National Highway, the concerned SHO will be informed and if the extortion still does not stop, action will be taken against the SHO.
