The Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) Harish Dwivedi will move a motion of thanks in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday, while Geeta alias Chandraprabha will do the same in the Rajya Sabha.
One hour has been set aside for Congress out of a total of 12 hours for opposition parties. Soon after Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman presented the budget in parliament yesterrday , Rahul Gandhi took to Twitter to criticise the budget, calling it a "Zero-Sum Budget."
Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi told the Rajya Sabha's Business Advisory Committee (BAC) on February 11 that Sitaraman would respond to the debate. To allow her to respond, it was decided to cancel the Private Members' Business for that day.
After February 11, both houses will be in recess for a month, with proceedings resumed on March 13. The budget debate will last until April 8th.
