Sushil Modi heats up Motihari’s parliamentary seat

As clocks ticks on 2024 parliamentary poll and the saffron party is set to revisit vote banks with consulting business communities, caste blocks and common citizens with organizing meetings on the pretext of apprising achievements of 9th years of Narendra Modi government.

MOTIHARI: As meteorologists has indicated monsoon to break up in Bihar with heavy rain and high speed wind by 13 to 14 June hinting relief from continue heat wave condition, political climate heats up in Motihari parliamentary seat.

Bihar’s top BJP leader and member of parliament in Rajya Sabha Sushil Modi on Sunday announced Radha Mohan Singh as BJP candidate from this seat again. The announcement drew reactions from various quarters. Champaran that is supposed to be bastion of saffron party and Radha Mohan Singh- elected sixth times from this seat and also became union agriculture minister. He however fought 9 times but lossed three times from Kamla Mishra Madhukar, Dr Akhilesh Prasad Singh and Rama Devi.

The stage for Motihari parliamentary seat is set for an interesting ballot battle in 2024 as Radha Mohan singh –senior BJP leader is supposed to be fielded again from this seat amid growing dissidence within district BJP. A good numbers of top BJP MLAs, workers and leaders have been drastically demanding change of candidates in upcoming parliamentary election. “We wants youth face for this seat”, a BJP leader told requesting anonymity.

As ex BJP MLC Babloo Gupta and BJP MLA Pawan Jaishwal is already among the lists of Singh’s rebellions, their images from the recent hoardings and posters omitted annoying their supporters.

In district, the oppositions, which has been insignificant till now have been strengthening its base to challenge Singh . Gappu Ray newly appointed chairman of district congress and his wife Mamta Ray-newly elected district board chairman has raised hopes and energized the workers and leaders after Mamta Ray snatched the district board chairman seat from BJP.

Until recently RJD have been second rivals in the district. Prity Gupta, wife of Deva Gupta – a RJD leader bagged mayor seat after defeating BJP candidate Prakash Asthana- another reason of excitements in opposition camps. East champaran district has12 assembly seat out of which 8 seats has been bagged by BJP in the last assembly election.

Even if Singh will adopt all means to retain the seat, he will finally rest on the images of Narendra Modi. “Fir Se Modi Hi honge Sahara”, said a BJP leader.

Raja Thakur, spokes persons of district BJP told BNM that Singh suppressed hardworking party workers and leaders that is the reason why he is facing such a strong dissidence within his party. “He don’t like those leaders who are devoted to party instead of him”,he said.
