New Delhi. The Chinese army returned ten Indian soldiers including four army officials on Thursday night. They had held them captive after the combat at Indo-China border at Galwan, Ladakh. This is the first time after the 1962 war that China arrested Indian soldiers.

On June 15, the scramble that started between the Chinese and Indian soldiers turned into a violent combat. Compared to around 500 Chinese soldiers, India had only 106 lead by Colonel Santosh Babu, but they fought bravely till another battalion reached the spot. Seventeen soldiers fell into the river and two soldiers Palani and Ojha along with Colonel Babu got injured by sharp objects used by the Chinese and lost their lives.

In the morning the body of 17 soldiers as well as 76 injured soldiers was airlifted and sent to hospital, but ten were missing. Out of them two were of captain rank and two were majors.

After a meeting between the officials of both countries on June 16 and 17, an official statement was released by the Army on Thursday that no soldier is missing. After the return of the ten army men they were examined as per rules.

As per sources the 76 soldiers are better and 18 of them are in army hospital and can join duty in 15 days. The rest 58 are in other hospitals and can join duty in a week.
